After uninstalling the Yahoo Messenger using Ccleaner, select Registry Menu in the CCleaner and click on Scan for Issues. Now click on fix selected issues button, it will prompt to backup the registry so click yes and save it in My Documents are any place you like to store.
Now click on Fix All Selected Issues to clean the Registry!
This is cause by some plugin error.
may be you can not see messages even after reinstalling yahoo messenger.
so...here is the easy way to solve this problem.
1- create a "NEW USER ACCOUNT" from 'control panel>user account for yourself and restart your computer. 2- login to the new user account and go to control panel> user accounts, and then delete ur old user account ( u may want to save your personal folder and files when prompt)( if you want to save your internet explorer favourites , do it manually ) 3- just connect your internet and enjoy yahoo messenger.
1. Before you attempt to transfer any files or photos, be sure that they are saved to your computer and that none are open, to avoid getting an error message
2. You may want to consider doing several smaller file transfers rather than a single large file transfer.
3. If you or your friend is behind a firewall and you're having difficulty transferring files or photos, try temporarily turning off the firewall to see if you're able to send them.
You need the following OS to support Messenger Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista / XP64 / Vista64 / Windows7 If that is not an issue read on.
The problem is probably due to a mal-function of the uninstall software. The Yahoo Messenger uninstall software is notorious for leaving files and fragments behind creating conflicts with the incoming software Close all programs when uninstalling / downloading and uploading. If you tried to uninstall the old Yahoo Messenger program from the Control Panel and failed to back it up with a visit to the 'C' drive, you may have old software conflicting with the incoming software trying to share the same folder. If you have Vista the whole Messenger folder should have been removed during the uninstall. Check Start > Computer >> Local drive (C) >> Program Files >> Yahoo >> Messenger. - The Messenger folder should have been deleted and not seen. If the Messenger folder is still visible - delete it.
If you have a pre-Vista OS, the Messenger folder remains, and inside, only one sub-folder should be seen. This is the 'Profile' folder and contains all the message history. All other software should have been deleted.
Manually delete any other folders and files before moving on
Download 'ccleaner' and run it through a couple of times, using the factory settings and the 'Run Cleaner' control until 0 bytes are seen to be cleaned following a scan Run the 'Registry' from the left hand toolbar but 'Save' any changes after opting to 'repair' errors. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Re-start your computer and download Yahoo Messenger from here.
I have the same problem with this error and I have uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen or so times. Plus I have even tried to run a registry cleaner as well and a virus scan and I still come up with the same problem. What do I do to solve this problem??
delete ur cookies and temporary internet files....
if that doesnt solve ur problem.... then it means that the yahoo server is down....
see if u can access ur mail through this alternate site

[Solution # 1] (1) Check your firewall to be sure that this port is not blocked.
(2) Ensure that another program is not using the same port number.
Type netstat in command prompt to see all active ports. --------------------- [Solution # 2]
Goto Connection Prefrences and use a http proxy. It helped!!!

[Solution # 3]
It might do this because it cant recognize the internet. Mine does this from time to time too, but I'm not sure if I get that particular error.
Try a couple things.
1. Totally close down Yahoo! and open it back up. See if that helps.
2. If you have a Wireless connection, shut your computer down and basically reboot the connection. Unplug your modem, then your router. Wait 15-30 seconds, then plug in your modem. Wait for the lights to all become solid, plug the router back in, then turn your computer on.
Sometimes a router will stop recognizing your computer. I've had it happen to me, and the odd part of it was I could still browse the net, but not use my IMs.
3. If nothing else works, uninstall and reinstall Yahoo! IM. It may just be a glitch. ---------------- [Solution # 4] Take a look to this address : http://epayvn.info/2009/01/yahoo-messenger-error-81003004.html
