Interior door handle right side
first you need to order a new handle and trim ring, 2 separate pieces. beige or grey are your only choices. www.tnaautoparts.com cheapest and only one i found that caries beige. i did both front doors for 25 dollars total including shipping. Remove door panel, 2 screws under round plastic caps that pry out and off, 2 screws at bottom, 2 lg screws in middle handle, 1 plastic retainer in side that prys out, 1 screw under square cap in the center of the trim ring. remove black plastic triangle shaped piece near the mirror, prys off easy. grab door panel and pull out then lift up. leave wires attached and let panel hang loose. remove screw from old door handle. remove linkage from handle and from lock. connect linkages to new handle and lock (look carefully at the old one before you remove the linkages) , install the last screw you removed to hold lock in place while you check to if everything works. when i finished mine neither door would open from the inside. i had to take pliers and slightly bend the linkage at the elbo's to shorten the travel distance. check this before you put everything back together by just putting the door panel back in place down fist then in, window down, close door, reach in and open door, if it doesn't open bend linkage and try again. when you are sure everything is ok install all screws except the one that was under the square plastic cap in the trim ring. to install trim ring look for notch on back side toward front of ring, push ring in notch end fist, back end slightly out, when the front end is in and seated push the back end straight in. install screw and push cap in. this job is not as hard as it sounds and will make sense when have the panel off and can see.
my model #795.77563600 ...ther is a blind threaded hole on the door. what i need to know is how do i access the screw? do the grey plastic end caps on the handles ends give me access, or is it some other way? fyi, the doors are stainless steel.
