If your door is already locked and you get an "F" error press and hold
the cancel button, and select drain/spin. If this still doesn't work
and your clothes are trapped inside do not resort to getting out the
crow bar and a sledge hammer. (Though you may really feel like doing
just that). You can manually unlock the door by following these steps:
Unplug washer or disconnect power. - Remove the lower kick panel. -
Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the
door switch/lock unit. - Located on the bottom of the door
switch/lock unit is a teardrop shaped tab. - Gently pull the tab down
about a 1/4˝ or until a click is heard. - The door may be now
Careful of overloading the front-loading washers. Too much of this will result in the bearings in the drum to go bad. When this happens, the rpms on the drum slow down due to belt slack. You can only see this with the back off of the unit and in the middle of the cycle. They do not sell replacement bearings...you'll have to buy the whole drum (bearings pressed inside) and for 1/2 the cost of a new washer. I hate front-loaders. I'll never buy one again.
I had a variety of error codes show up on my duet, and I'm not sure but I seem to recall a 31, but the most constant was 02. I took off the front cover, pulled the white plug out from the unit, put a bucket under it, unscrewed it and drained it. It may be the MCU is having problems because the washer got plugged up.
F/dU error means --------- Door Unlock Error A Door Unlock Error occurs if the door cannot be unlocked. It will try to unlock the door 6 times before displaying the error. -------- to resolve the error --------- Door Lock Mechanism broken.Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly for foreign objectsCheck Wire Harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and Central Control Unit (CCU)Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure
Try to unplug the unit for five minutes, then plug back in. Try to start a load, as soon as the door locks agian, hit cancel. That will sometimes let you get back in. Im not sure if this is a top loader or front loader, but there is a way (if its a front loader) to remove the bottom front kick plate, then you have to reach up the inside to the door latch assm, on the bottom of that is a small round handle, pull it straight down, and the door will unlock. If its a top loader (i.e. Cabrio, Oasis, Etc), you can open the top only by unclipping the top from the base. You can do this by putting a putty knife in between the top and cabinet, then finding the clips, pushing them in and lfting, you can get your stuff out that way.
