Recently my computer all of a sudden just turned off and when I tried turning it back on it went into stand by mode. The screen does not turn on and neither the hard drive or fans seem to be working. Only the Power light is blinking and the caps and number lock work. I tried taking out the battery and disconnecting the cpu from the wall outlet and left it overnight. The next morning, everything was back to normal and then all of a sudden it happened again. I tried the same steps and the computer worked again, but again it went right back into standby mode after a few minutes of use. Can anyone help me?

It sounds like a main board problem. The control voltage that goes to back-light inverter board; from the main board, goes down. Contact any service technician. This is not a user repairable fault. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
An Electronic component has failed. Unless you can repair circuits, take it to a shop or friend who can. Consider cost of replacement. A few hundred will fix an old tv, a couple more and you have a whole new unit.
this screen is hhowed when the computer was not turned of, just went to stand by or hibernate mode usually. Or was not turned off correctly. Try to restart your laptop via Start -> Restart, and let me know if the problem remains.
I find sleep mode nothing but trouble, eventually corrupts window files over extended use, go into power options, go to stand by and select never and click apply, next go to hibernate "top right" and click, make sure the check box is clear, if not! remove check and click apply and restart your laptop.
there are many reason why a monitor suddenly turned off then back to work again , over use may over heat that cause the soled parts on the printed board of your CRT go loosen , try to re sold it, sometimes your PC might stop viewing so the monitor automatically shot off stby mode , loose connection due to basted parts , capacitors, power regulators, resistors , even the cables also might be.
What OS are you running? There can be up to 3 places in the OS or sftwr. ( have you recently dwnlded. any 3rd party sftwr. since this started? If yes, uninstall it AFTER you go back into it and adjust what you have changed to Power Options, Display Properties, and Administrative Tools), so go back and udo any recent changes, esp. if it is in 3rd party sftwr. do not empty your Trashcan, yet.
same here ,men , i start the tearing apart hehehe, and i think it can be one the little chip located behind the control panel so i remove the white ribbon, the one looking like an ide connector for a hard drive, and guess what it turns on, but when you connect the ribbon just goes back to stand by mode, maybe requires a flash on one of the little chips, same thing happen to a lap top that i use to have, just shorted 2 of the pins and start working normally, im gonna find more info but there sems to be nothing about this amp, high five from mexico men
