The earpiece speaker in the phone is bad. You can either get a replacement speaker and swap it out or take it to service center and have them swap it for you.

Hi
there! If you want to unlock your phone there will be no damage or harm or
anything like that..Your phone is gonna work as usual, only you will be able to
use it with any phone provider in the world. The unlock process is simple and
safe. If you are interested in unlocking your phone I suggest you this site
http://unlockphonenetwork.com/ They are doing a very good job there!
Their could potentially be a problem with your Phone speaker, have you made sure you have call volume turned on/up !? when in a call, press the volume adjustment buttons on the side of the phone and a small window should pop up saying Volume. if the call volume is up but there is still a problem with your phone, i would seek professional help from either Sony ericsson or your Mobile phone Carrier
While receiving a call press < or > on the side of the phone this will turn the earpiece volume UP or DOWN a visual bar will appear on the screen.
Hopefuly that's all you need to do.
While receiving a call press < or > on the side of the phone this will turn the earpiece volume UP or DOWN a visual bar will appear on the screen. Do this during a call.
