My mp3 won't turn on

I turned it on this morning and it still had at least half the battery life left. I tried to turn it on two hours later and now it won't turn on. I plugged it into the computer thinking the battery was dead and nothing is showing up on the screen.

I had about half the battery left in it, so I put it into the computer to download some songs, etc. Then when I took it out of the computer, it wouldnt turn on. So I plugged it back into the computer thinking maybe the battery had gone flat somehow.... and nothing happened. As in it didnt turn on and say it was charging or anything, and the computer didnt detect it...

    :(

My Samsung YP-K3 wont turn on either! i listened to it this morning, then plugged it into my computer, trying to upload new songs, and nothing happened. it didnt recieve the mp3 or something. and so i unpluged it from my computer and just thought that i would wait like 2 hrs or so, and it would be fine, so i just unplugged it, and left it, and then now, i just tried and turned it on, and it wont turn on! i pushed the reset button, but it did nothing! PLEASE HELP!

Had exactly the same problem. My Samsung YP-K3 just went completely blank. I did what people suggested here and pressed the reset button with a pin and it started working again :-) I thought resetting might lose the music on there, but no - it was all there. Many thanks to everyone for their comments on this. It helped me to sort out the problme really quickly :-)

I think i have a solution to your the power not coming on with a charged battery. On the back at the very bottom is a reset button (very tiny), get a saftey pin or tooth pick and press and release. I did this and now i am not hunting down Samsung....Have good day! WhupAzz

I've two simple solutions!!!

1. It's like what everyone says, you push the Reset button on the back and plug it in again. Did not work for me though. :(

2. I used this solution instead, I went to Control Panel > Performance & Maintenance > System Open the drives tab and and looked up the mp3's drive. I saw there was a yellow exclamation mark. I then right clicked on that drive and updated it. Voila, it updated the MTP, and DONE! MAGIC! ;D

I hope it works for everyone, good luck!

alright i tried to push the reset button it didn't work so then i put the charger cable in a diffrent adapter and the with a pin push the reset button (on the right side of mp3) while doing that though push the play button to turn it on wait a few seconds and then it should start charging again. This worked for the sony walkman mp3 players mode NWZ-E354 I really hope this works for you guys :)

Simalar problem to all above plus PC would not recognise the unit when connected. Solved however by going into Device Manager on PC, uninstalling it and then plugging back into PC. As it is all plug and play it took it as a new device and everything working perfectly again.

Yes, I had the same problem. It was fine before and suddenly it won't turn on nor would my computer detect it when plugged in! I read the solutions here and pressed the reset button and now it's fine :D I wonder what caused this problem though?

My Mp3 had half the battery left and this morning when i tried to charge it the mp3 wouldn't turn on.
I found this site and pressed the reset button (which is on the back of the mp3 on the bottom near the right and is really tiny) and the MP3 is working fine now, with no loss of music.
Cheers for the help.

Thanks a lot, I was worry that I broke my friend SAMSUNG MP3 (YP-U2J). After reading all these posts, pressed the reset button which I didn't know it before, plugged into the USB port, and wohla the damn thing came back to life. It was a relief for me. I though I would have to pork out my money and replace it with a new one. Again, thank alot for all the infor.

My samsung had the same problem. Then, I sent it to Samsung service. They said that it infected virus. No explanation anymore. They rescured it. But now, this problem happens again. What do I have to do now? Try to push RESET hole?

Battery life half of what it used to be

sometimes all a battery needs is a little exercise

try this

let it run down to 25% every morning when first turned on

then full recharge

then down to 50% every morning next week

then full recharge

like push ups for rechargeables

that's how get more life out of my batteries

this will take a while so don't expect a two day miracle

RCA TH1101 MP3 Player short battery life

Are you using the cheap AAA batteries? If you are, that's your problem. Try getting some more expensive batteries or even better get some rechargeable. That's what I did with my RCA Pearl. Bought the batteries yesterday and it's still working on the same battery almost 24 hours later. hope this helps. Good luck my friend.

Sansa e250

i know i have to charge my sansa for at least 7-8 hours before the battery will show it is full. about your other problem, i believe there is an option under the settings menu to automatically shut your sansa off. If not then you can turn off the backlight and that will save alot of battery life.

Screen says battery is full, but wont turn on

I read somewhere that even with a functional lyra, when it displays "battery full", you should keep charging for another hour. This is said to extend battery life and give you an extra 2-3 hours of power. Either this is perfectly normal, or it indicates that the battery reading tends to be inaccurate. In any case, try leaving it charging even after it gives you the message. Another thing to consider is, how long has it been in the box? I'm not sure about lithiums, but most rechargeables I know live longer when used. Live it alone for too long and you shorten it's life. Could be good to get a second opinion on this battery thing though. If there's a warranty, don't let it waste. Good luck
