You can't scan over a network, quite simply. When you set up networking with Windows, it asks if you want to set up "File and PRINTER sharing", unfortunately this does not include scanning, even if it is an All in One printer.

How can I set up my HP C7180 to scan to my second laptop, a VAIO VPC-EB33FM/B

To be able to scan to the laptop it MUST be connected to the printer either with a usb cable or through the router. There is a way to bypass the wireless functionality of the router and laptop. Use an ethernet cable to connect your laptop directly to the router. It should work right away. It's highly unlikely that Windows XP will not work the wireless router. I would suggest you contact the actual manufacturer of the router instead of verizon.

HP DESKJET D1360 HOW TO SET UP WIRELESSLY USING MAC

Are you trying to use MAC filtering. You would just need the MAC from the network setup screen and add it to your router/firewall.

If you are using a Mac (Apple) computer you would, providing you have a wireless adapter connected to Mac, just go into "System Preferences" and use the wizard under "Print & Scan". Make sure the networking on the printer is in on the same as your Mac.

What do I need to make my printer wireless?

You need 1) a wireless router with a USB port that supports the HP OfficeJet printer. 2) The software for your router to run a printer on the USB port. Obviously, you will need a USB A/B male end cable.Note: the scan features of the all-in-one may not work unless the printer is directly connected to the computer. Bi-directional communication is required for scanning and the router software may not support this completely.

Check the list of supported printers closely for older routers. I have a Cisco Linksys E4200 v.2. This router supports all the HP printers that I use.

If this is a new installation of the printer, first install the printer on the computer. If you have Windows 7, just connect the printer to the USB port on the laptop. This will install the OS drivers for the printer. (For Windows XP, go to the HP site and get the full software.)

Next install the wireless router between your modem and computer and set that up. (If you have DHCP (dynamic address allocation), it should be automatic. Otherwise follow the directions.) Next install the router software (for my router, it was Cisco Connect).

My next step was to launch the Cisco Connect program and connect the printer directly to the USB port on the router. In Cisco Connect, choose add a printer and find the printer connected to the router. Print a test page. (At times, I've had to reset the port that the printer is on in the Windows Control Panel Printer Properties. (For the Cisco Connect, the printer is on the DOT4 port.)

Other routers will be set up somewhat differently.

Another option is to have the printer connected to a desktop and then make it a shared printer with the wireless router communicating between the laptop and the desktop. This makes the desktop the print server, so it needs to be on when you want to print. If you have several computers with Windows, this can fairly easy to set up. Make sure that the computers are in the same Workgroup (XP) or Homegroup (Win7). Enable sharing and you are done.

I hope this helps.

(who has a OJ 7000 (with ethernet port) and a LJ1320 (USB) connected to the router. Three computers talk to these printers with the laptop on the wireless network. On an older router that didn't support the printers, the laptop was the server for a previous OfficeJet and one of the desktops was the server for the LaserJet.)

Can i connect Hp F380 all in one printer to Linksys wrt54g, and i am using macbook, help

From looking at the printer information and the router information, you will probably need additional equipment to make this work.
The printer connects to computers using a USB cable. It does not have a network connection, either wired or wireless built in.
That means you need a print server to connect your printer to the network. Some routers have a print server built in, but the WRT54G isn't one of them.
The print server will have some USB ports to connect the printer to, and connect to the router with a cable, or wirelessly.
HP shows this option: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01428401&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&site=null&key=null&product=1128296
If you can find that one, it might work the best. Many print servers have a hard time with all-in-one devices. They are usually able to print just fine, but scanning is troublesome. Make sure to review information about any print server you get, or router with built in print server to make sure it does everything you need.
Considering the price of a print server, it might be a better option to get a new printer that has built in network support. They are more likely to work easily and well. But watch carefully to make sure it can do everything you need (print, scan etc) over the network.

Hi we recently bought some mobile computer vc5090, we deploy some of them in our warehouse and everything is ok, but those that we use in the factory , had problem to connect to the wireless. We use...

Try connecting each one directly to the router to set them up before using them wirelessly.

If that doesn't work, remove the security password and connect without any security.

If this works, re-enter the security keycode and they should all connect no problem.

Just ensure that the security password/keycode is the same on the router as the computers.

Wondering what I need to print wirelessly from laptop with this printer

If you printer hasn't a built-in wireless connection and if you haven't a wireless router then -
You need a wireless router plus print server. Connect this print server to the wireless router with a LAN cable. Then the printer is then connected to the print server's printer port.
The laptop's wireless card is then configured with the router's wireless settings.
The laptop is then installed with the printer driver and the printer port needs to be changed/configured with the print server's IP address.
ALTERNATELY
If the printer is connected to a desktop computer on your home LAN and it is also connected to your wireless router. Then you can set this printer as A Shared Printer on your desktop computer, but this desktop computer and the printer has to be powered up for the laptop to print to the printer.

Wireless light will lit up only if any wireless computer is connected to Belkin's wireless network.
First, connect to Belkin's wireless network that you can scan.
After you connect, try to go online

Scan from printer through router to pc?

You will need to use the TWAIN software for the printer. From the computer you will be running the scan options thru the TWAIN software. Then the scan files will be pulled from the printer back to the computer. Running scan options directly from the printer will give you the option to print the scan files or send them to a memory card if your printer has a slot for one. If the scanning software is not installed on your computer then you will need to download it from the manufacturer's website.

Scanning from wireless laptop

First of all, just use a USB cable, there not that expensive and it will be alot easier.

If you must use wireless. The laptop is trying to connect directly to the scanner or is there a print server somewhere, is there internet being used, is it connecting to another access point or wireless router?

Thes questions need clerifying.

Again. Wirless is supposed to be easy but we all know it isnt always true.

I would either Hardwire into the network or printer or connect direct to the scanner VIA USB.

Does HP LJ 3055 printer scan over the wireless network?

Scan over wireless network is not supported with this printer. You can try set it up and get scanner to work with usb and then change port from usb to HP standard TCP/IP for the device, but I don't think it will work.
