Amana electric range art6002w - broiler element popped and burnt; replaced but broiler does not work; bake element works and display clock and timer work. why would the new broiler element not work? thanks

if you have it on broil and the element doesn't heat up and you changed the element then you either have a loose or broken wire or a bad clock assy. part number 74009213 and it's around 166 dollars
sounds like only the broiler is working which comes on low during bake cycle. unplug or turn off breaker, remove bake element and check for continuity or take to someone who can.
Probably none. The sparking going on after you turned it off was probably the ground side of the element. Replace the element then re apply power and see if you have any trouble then.
canoyu physically inspect teh element for damage, perhaps its broken. or as wireleadingto the rearof elemnt has buntoff. you can check , but turn offpower first, the wires are always live
It is most likely the pop came from a relay on the control board if the elements checked ok but not getting power to them. This is fairly common on fridgidaire ranges. Replace the oven control. Usually the control overlay is sold as a separate piece.
