Very new to scanners have uniden BC95XLT. During scanning of 2 banks of channels I have manually entered, scanner stops and says found I have entered these channels and it will stop at this same freq again and display found. I thought you could not enter the same freq twice but it seems to allow me to enter it into the next bank even though the same freq is already in one of the banks.
This occurs during scanning and says found but most times it is finding a channel already in a bank. Have not spent much time to figure it out, but do not like that it locks onto the found channel and stops scanning, until I push scan again to restart scanning. It will also display found during searching. This scanner rounds freq off to nearest 5 don't know if trans can be like 123.322. First searching scanner I have ever owned. I am also somewhat electronically challenged. Mark

Yes it locks on blinking founf and dotted lines alternatly and stays locked until you push scan or push function and program very quickly then it either shows what channel this freq is already on or when you hit program or enter (same button) it will enter that freq into the next available spot in the next bank> But as I say I now have repeats of some channels and the instructions say that it should not allow me to double a freq. I am thinking it will not allow a double in the same bank but may allow it to go to a diff bank if you hit enter. I have to have surg in a month and will have more time to mess with it then. But as for now I have not even figured out how to delete a stored channel. Technologically Challenged. Thanks Mark

Are you scanning or searching? Not familiar with the word "found" when scanning programmed channels. You should be able to program the same frequency in another bank though. Are you scanning or searching? Not familiar with the word "found" when scanning programmed channels. Push the "L/O" lockout button and it will lockout that channel.
When you press "Scan" you have to have at least one of the banks scanning, so press 1, 2, 3,....9, 0 whatever bank you have channels programmed in order to automatically scan. You should be able to press "Manual" to see each channel individually.
It sounds to me as if your scanner is locking on to a 'BIRDIE', which is an internally generated frequency in the scanner, all scanners have this by default, your user manual usually has a page, near the back of the manual, with known 'birdies', and there a lots.
When your scanner locks onto a 'BIRDIE', which is a frequency with no voice audio, the best thing to do is press Lockout button, during the scan, your scanner will, if there is no other problem with it, continue to scan, until it finds another 'BIRDIE', then you do the same thing as I've described, until you've locked out all the 'BIRDIES'.
what it is because that your other banks are locked out and thats why it by passes your frequencies...unlock your banks and it will stop on the transmissions...

I couldn't locate the manual for your scanner, but it's basically the same as the BC860XLT, except that the 860 has 100 channels. Other than that, all controls and functions are the same. You can download and print the manual for the 860 here:

Are you scanning or searching? Not familiar with the word "found" when scanning programmed channels. You should be able to program the same frequency in another bank though.
