The term is Gigabyte. I suggest you rephrase the question and resubmit it with more details as to the problem you're experiencing.

I had the exact same problem Allii366, and it turns out all I had to do
was reset the battery switch, and it accepted being charged again.

SOURCE: Computer does not recognize Gigabeat Device

I came across this link, its a firmware / software update.
Install this and vista should recognize gigabeat.
Vista does not recognize ANYTHING, if you have XP then KEEP IT.
I have learned about vista's compatibility issues the hard way,
and now im stuck with Vista and lovely payments from Dell.

You've either got the wrong battery or did something wrong when you installed it. You must make sure that the main power switch at the bottom is turned off.

SOURCE: My toshiba MES60VK wont turn ON
I have a mes 60 gb Gigabeat and I've had the same problem. There is a very small slide switch on the bottom if the gigabeat. Use a pen or the end of a paper clip to slide it to the left (off) wait a few seconds and slide it back to the right (on). It should allow you to turn it back on with the power button. You may have to repeat the procedure leaving it off a little longer each time.

My met400 initially boots with the gigabeat screen and the loading bar completes its journey. Then this screen remains and I can do anything else but use the reset button to turn it off.
