SOURCE: wires came unplugged from behind control knob

Below is the link to the wiring diagram to your dryer, it should help some. In addition what I can tell you is that most appliance components have initials next to the connections that indicate what color wire is supposed to be connected to them, this is where the diagram should help. In cases of things like switches, buzzers, thermostats, things that only have to do with circuits being open or closed they will not have an initial so therfor it doesn't matter what wire goes to what connection. Post again if you need more help. http://www.appliance-parts-warehouse.com/frigidaire-parts/Frigidaire-Dryer-Parts/Frigidaire-Parts-GLER331AS2/Frigidaire-Parts-50169.cfm

SOURCE: Wire Scraping sound and sparks inside rear dryer drum area.

Probably the rear bearing has failed and caused the drum to rub against the heating element. Hey, is this the guy that said he heard a noise last month? LOL

Does it shut down completely? If it does, and the timer ceases turning, your problem may be a blocked vent pipe or Lint buildup.Your high limit switch is designed to kill power to your heater coils and sometimes the motor in case of overheat.

Testimonial: "I have cleaned the dryer inside out but will now clean from the wall to the outdoors and see if this solves the problem. Thanks for the suggestion."

Looking for a picture of the wire colors where they go on a Frigidaire electric dryer timer part #131225100

The important part that is missing from this question is the model of the dryer as this part may used on multiple models. The correct Google search query is

frigidaire (model) replace timer

or

frigidaire (model) timer wiring diagram

The result will be like this and you can click on the images tab as well.

Replaced the heating element of our Frigidaire Gallery Dryer, model # GLER331AS2 and still not heating. What next?

Hello,
The next thing to check is going to be the HIGH LIMIT THERMOSTAT it fits onto the outside of that round housing where the element is.To check it DISCONNECT POWER TO DRYER open up the dryer as you did to replace the heat element and remove the 2 wires from it,use a multimeter set a low ohms rating and check thermostat for continuty with ZERO ohms resistiance on the 2 terminals on that t-stat. IF that t-stat checks good, next check the cycling t-stat in same manner. IT's going to be in the housing where the blower wheel goes and not on the round housing. If that too checks to be good replace timer

Good luck,i hope i have been able to help you fix your dryer,
