You need an mp3 conversion programme like Nero, or media player 10 can convert your cd's to mp3 in the rip tab. but what it doesn't tell you in the instuctions is that you should make a new folder called music in the psp folders window when it pops up showing whats saved on your psp. Make sure you have a decent size duo memory card fitted as this is where the songs will be saved; not on the psp itself. But in your psp settings make sure you have selected USB connection or it wont connect and show anything on your pc. select your mp3 file on your pc, copy it and then go to the music folder you made open it up and then select paste, it will then go into the folder and then should show up in the music menu in the psp after you have disconnected the usb lead. the same applies to video or any other file you wish to put on the psp.

How to convert DVD to PSP?

PSP Video formats supported:

Video: MPEG-4 (aka MP4), AVI
Aside from movie and music videos available commercially on UMD, the PSP can also play video files from the Memory Stick. These files must be in MP4 or AVI format.

VMusic: MP3, ATRAC, MP4, WAV, WMA
Music can come on UMD (though usually it comes in the form of music videos). You can also load your own music to play, as long as it's among the formats listed (you may not be able to play some of the file formats if you're using a Memory Stick Pro Duo, though; only the Memory Stick Duo is compatible with all file formats).

DVD to PSP Converter is a professional DVD ripping software which can convert homemade DVD and encrypted (rent or purchased) DVD to PSP video and audio files like MPEG-4, AVI, MP3 ... and these converted files can be played on PSP, PSP 3000 and PS3.

What's more, this DVD ripper can edit DVD, it can help you clip DVD segment, crop DVD size, edit DVD effects, adjust subtitle, and add DVD watermark, to get the customized DVD video and audio files.

The following is a step by step guide on how to convert DVD to PSP with the DVD to PSP Converter.

Step 1: Download and install DVD Ripper

Step2: Add DVD disc or IFO file
This DVD to PSP software supports to import two kinds of DVD (DVD disc and IFO file) Click one of the "Load DVD" icons.

Step 3: Select output format
Click the triangle on the right of the "Format", you will see the drop down list, it lists many popular media players such as iPod, iPhone, iPad, PSP, BlackBerry, etc, so you can choose the right formats according to your media players.

Step 4: Output Video Settings
Click the last icon on the tool bar , you can customize video and audio parameters on the pop up window by choosing from the drop down list of these parameters. If you don't know how to set the correct parameters manually, you can just click "Low" or "Mid" or "High", but you should know that high quality video contains large size and vice versa.
Regular DVD movies usually have several subtitles such as English, French, German, etc. You can select one you prefer. You can also delete the subtitle by selecting "No Subtitle". Selecting Audio is the same. What's more, you can also choose a proper output path as your destination folder for the converted movies.

Step 5: "Start" Conversion
Click "Start" button to start the DVD to PSP conversion. And you will find the output files by click "Open".

MY memory stick can be seen and read in my pc but doesnt work on my psp

  • Flash Storage:
  • Memory Stick PRO Duo Expansion Slot pspphatmodelnumber.gif pspslimmodelnumber.gif pspbritemodelnumber.gif
  • Memory Stick Micro Expansion Slot pspgomodelnumber.gif
All flash storage, including Memory Sticks and internal flash, uses the FAT32 file system. http://us.playstation.com/support/answer/index.htm?a_id=1055

The above shows how to format the Memory Stick PRO Duo in the PSP so the correct file structure will be shown.

Be sure to back up any data on the Memory Stick PRO Duo before doing this as all data will be lost on the Memory Stick PRO Duo device.

How do you install and play games on the psp from the memory card?

If your psp has the latest firmware update, especially 3001 or Psp Go models, then you cannot download and install 3rd party downloaded software (iso or cso files)

Sony has improved on their copy protection platforms and at this time does not allow homebrew to run on the psp. this can be done with chickHEN (google it), apparently, though I have not yet tried it, as it will use resources to run it.

But, if you go to Playstation Network and purchase/download games/videoes/etc.. they can be downloaded from either a Playstation 3 (if you ownl one),
or a pc. Also you can access PSN psp downloads directly on the psp and download games directly, install them onto your memory stick pro duo or pro duo hg, etc..
memory card. there are thourough instructions on the site as well. Also, if you are using your PC to transfer files, download the Media Go software for the psp from sony.

Here is the link for Media Go Software (download for free).

There ya have it.

Not able to copy movies on Sony 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for PSP

Before you go throwing any old video file onto your PSP, make sure you have the following items:
  • The PSP. This is self-explanatory.
  • The .MP4 video files.
  • Video conversion software to convert non-MP4 files to MP4, the format the PSP reads.

PSP not detecting files on a 4gb memory stick PRO Duo

There are certain folders that the PSP puts on the stick when it formats it. Format the new stick on the PSP first. Then, you can transfer you files to it.

Yes there is a way. What you will need is a PC, Some form of Memory stick Duo card Reader, And a PSP Compatible Memory stick Duo/Pro Duo.

If you havent already used the memory stick inside the PSP it will not have the correct Formatted file System for use in the PSP. but you can create the file system using your computer.

heres how to do it ! :

1) plug your Memory stick Duo/Pro Duo into the card reader on your computer.
2) open my computer, locate the Memory stick usually found under the "devices with removable storage" area.
3) once inside the memory stick, create 2 seperate folders. One called "PSP" and the other one called "MP_ROOT".
4) Navigate into the "PSP" Folder and create 3 Folders, "MUSIC", "PICTURE" & "VIDEO"
5) Copy & Paste the Necessary files into each Subsequent Sub-Folder within the "PSP" Folder.

Note : The PSP Can only handle Certain File types for Pictures, Music, And Video. i would suggest Navigating to http://psp.about.com/od/hardwarefirmware/p/compformat.htm before you transfer your files to ensure that you are adding files which are Viewable/Readable by The PSP's software.

Hope this helps !?
