Question about Euro-Pro Steam Generator EP8001 Iron

2 Answers

Euro-Pro X I have a Euro-Pro X steam cleaner with an iron. While in the process of using it, it quit producing steam. Everything works just fine, just no steam but the water heats and is under pressure. The hose going to the iron looks almost flat, I didn't notice what it looked like before it quit working.

Dyllan, thank you for your information and time I appreciate it however, since posting I have found that air is getting through the hose. the problem I think is at the point where the stean comes out of the water tank. I will call this part the connector?? because it is where you change the different tools when you want to use them. Could a piece of trash have gotten in there or is there a valve that is maybe stuck in the "closed" position.

My Euro-Pro 8001 steam cleaner with iron is also referred to as an EP 965. The problem is that the steam cannot leave the holding tank and get into a hose. Is there anyone who thinks they can help with this problem?

I have a Euro-Pro X Steam Cleaner with Iron (Red Canister Type) and it will not steam. There are four lights at the top of the canister. Going from left to right, the first three light up but the forth one does not. Everything works fine, the iron heats, the water heats and is pressurized but the steam does not come out of the water holding tank into any of the attachments hooked to the cannister. The hoses of the attachments are open, air goes through them.

Hi Skipalong,

It looks like you've been waiting along time for a solution.  I have a few ideas.

  1.  The connectors that keep the steam in when an attachment is not hooked up could be stuck. Se if you can tinker with the connectors to see if they are sticking and free to pass steam. I do not know how the Eiro-po stop the steam from coming out when an atachment is not hooked up. just check to see if these connections are sealed shut.
  2. Run distilled water and Vinegar 50/50  to clean out any grime.
  3. When using the Iron, and your finished, drain the iron into the sink before putting it away everytime you use it. This will cut down on Mineral build up.
  4. Try to only use only Distilled water in your steamer. You can get this at any major store that sells Bottled water.

Check the hose for something clogging it. It will be past the flattened area (by that I mean further from the steam cleaner). It sounds like something got stuck in the hose, and as the steam cleaner kept sucking on the hose, it caused the hose to flatten.

Stupid question, but is the slider set to no steam by chance? From what I've been able to find, there is a slider to set it to steam or no steam. It is possible that slider has malfunctioned. All that slider does is block the hole leading to the hose that the steam exits through. If somehow the slider got stuck or broken (I'm not sure how that could happen) it might be blocking the steam.

Your light is on, so it's generating steam. There has to be something physically preventing the steam from exiting the chamber. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much else to be done from here, unless someone else has insight into this specific model. Check that slider, and failing that... I don't know.

I have a EURO-PRO X Model EP965 Steam Generator seems to working but steam is not coming our, neither for the iron nor for the brush.

I think you have a tank that is calcified and is not getting enough heat to the water assuming there is enough water in it. If it was blocked it would either cause the relief valve to vent or explode.

I would start by cleaning it, my best guess would be to run a few cycles with vinegar in it. This is a mild acid that will dissolve the calcium deposits. Try maybe a 50%-50% with vinegar and water.

Be sure the vinegar will not damage the unit, I do not know.

Hope these links help.

Why is there No steam from morphy Richards 42247 model steam generator?

It may be calcified or have lime scale. If the heater is "gummed up", it cannot heat properly. Try using either vinegar (takes longer) or an iron cleaner. You pour it in and it breaks up the scale. CLR works quite well too. Use pipe cleaners to clear out the holes in the sole plate.

I have a Euro-Pro E8000. It is about 15 years old. The iron heats up but does not produce steam. I probably have not used it in about 1 year. Any suggestions?

Check that the steam holes in the base are clear. There are patent sale cleaners available commercially. Enquire at any major appliance store etc.

Good day I have an euro pro iron and it leaks all the time leaving water on washed clothes.also it leaks out of the bottom??

The water may come out at the bottom instead of steam. this is due to insufficient heat produced. So switch on your ironbox and keep it in full temperature using the knob. then the water will be coming out as steam and not as water itself. Try again.

I hope this is useful to you

I have a Euro-pro iron with a separate tank for producing steam. When heated and in use it will "spit"unexpectedly which makes is rather useless for most projects. Why does it do this? What can I do?

try adding a calcium cleaner (like CLR) and letting the steam run all the way through without ironing and see if it cleans the steam lines and holes
