Thromo stat bad the tempature knob has a gas valve attached to it along with two gas lines you will have to remove the oven to acess all lines as they run on the backside of the case remove the burners and gas input line copper line remove gas supply tube to all burners remove valve and take to dealer they need the numbers off the vavle for exact repacement not just the numbers off the stove itself east fix with simpl hand tools thermost has a themocouple attached to burner assembly and this is your problem bad part is themocouple is built into thermostat and is no serviceable only fix is to replace "thermostic gas valve"

I have a very old Magic Chef gas cooktop. One of the burners lost full strength. I cleaned out the pinholes on the stem but this didn't help. Do you have any suggestions?

Have you had a spillover? Lift the burner cap the round thing on top of the burner then pull out the burner you might see a small hexagonal brass thing with a hole in the centre if it's blocked clean it with some acetone/ nail polish remover.

I can not start the oven. The gas is on and the cooktop is fine.

The oven either has a pilot light to be lit before the oven will work or you need to light the burner each time you use it. Check your owner's manual or find the owner's manual on line and read it!

One of the burners won't light. The stove top is ceramic electric. It is a Magic Chef oven. Other three burners work.

check all wires to burner and switch. If they are good .....burner burnt out or switch no good.

Rv cooktop range 22 series

hi,

it sounds like the oven safety valve is bad, it will reach a point when the pilot will make enough energy to keep itself lit, but not enough to open the gas valve to light. it will need to be replaced. if you are handy you can do this, but make sure you shut off the gas to the range first. you should be able to find a replacement online, if not check with a local LP gas company that sells parts to the public.

PILOT CLICKING

Dawnie, under each burner control there is a valve and a switch. One of your switches has either become wet or shorted out. This is why it's clicking. Sometimes grease gets in them and causes this problem. The part number for the switch is 7403p367-60. You can look it up on the net to see what Im talking about. Not a hard fix. Catriver..post back.
