there is "audio out" jacks on back side of television. connect it to an amplifier or other tv & hear if sound is comming. if sound is comming then audio amplifier is defective in your tv. if sound is not comming then audio processor may be defective.
you need to general service the whole unit. this will include re-soldering and changing some defective components from the board, which has been damaged through using from past years. my advice is to have a quotation from service tech and then think about repairing it..if it is better to buy a new one..
you wiull have to check it with a meter if its getting short the meter will show zero reading other wise the faulty low reading.if thats the case the part has to be replaced.
