The monitor is blacking out intermittently, the green power light is blinking when this happens. Sometimes it comes back if I unplg the monitor from the wall, other times it doesn't. The last time this happenend (tonight) it would not come back at all.
Monitor going black after a few seconds can be causd by a faulty power supply or inverter. Some monitors have both as one unit.
Sometimes it is basic failed capacitors, After that then I would look at transistors.
The average monitor from 17 to 20 and sometimes the 22s have usually 4
bulbs in them. One bad bulb will also cause the inverter to not fire up.
Bad bulbs usually show pinkish tint, or flickering or are dark at center top or bottom of the display.

The problem lies within the DVi or VGA cable. If you bump the cable, or if it is not securly in place at one end, or the pins are broken, the picture won't be displayed correctly, Check to make srue both ends ae intact and plugged in securely, and if it still happens, buy a new DVI/VGA cable . That will solve the problem. It also explains why the light stays on. There is an external power source(the wall outlet) powering the moniter, but the video cable is not working and isn't transmitting the picture.

- HP L1506 LCD goes black after several hours and stays black until power plug is removed and reinserted. Now LCD goes black within 10 seconds after power is applied. Sometimes front panel green LED flashes like a heartbeat (defective electronics?) Unit was Manufactured July 2006.
- VGA cable exchanged with known good cable with no effect.
- Unable to call up OSD menu before unit goes black (LAMP issue?).
