The trackball will move down and to the sides, just not up? Try blowing some compressed air into the gap around the trackball from all sides.

Sometimes the trackball gets sticky from food particles or dirt from your fingers. Wipe it clean with a dry lint-free cloth and see if that makes a difference.

If it still won't go up, there may be dust or dirt particles underneath the trackball. Get a thin strip of paper and try to work it in around the trackball to loosen any dirt or debris. Then blow the compressed air again to remove any dirt found.

4) Wait a minute or two and replace the battery and cover. Once the unit has rebooted, try moving the trackball again. It should be better.

you should replaced the trackball

Trackball doesn't work if you have not selected the sensitivity.

To select the sensitivity, kindly follow the steps:
1. Select menu.
2. Select option.
3. Select screen/key board.
4. Scroll down to find horizontal and verticle
5. Select horizontal-100 and verticle-100.

if you can get the part -- its a trackball assembly btw not just the ball itself
you press down on the silver ring around the ball and turn, the cover will fall out. use a small probe and lift the assembly out.
many times there's fuzz in there -- check it out before you buy a new assembly

you need to replaced the entire trackball or service the old one.
