It sound as a malfunction lid switch, that should be replaced.
The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch.

Door not opening in Equator / Hirundo ( EZ3612CEE / EZ2512CEE / EZ1612V ) If the door in the unit is not opening it means that the unit has not completed the cycle selected or else there is something in the unit that has malfunctioned. In such cases if there are clothes in the unit, one tries to open the door by pulling the door handle which mostly results in breaking of the door handle and also the clothes in the unit cannot be removed To avoid the breakage of the door handle and also the damage to the clothes you can follow the following procedure to open the door.
Make sure that the machined is turned OFF.
Set the dryer & wash temperature knobs to the off position (12 o'clock / pointing vertically upwards)
Turn the wash program knob to cycle no. 4 & advance the knob by 6 clicks in the clockwise direction.
Turn the machine ON by pressing the ON/OFF Switch.
You will observe that the machine starts draining out the water and also the drum starts moving ( goes into the spin cycle)
Wait until the water is drained out of the machine, this can be understood by paying attention to the sound made by the drain pump when it initially starts draining out the water and once the water has been drained out.
Once you are sure that all the water in the unit has drained out switch OFF the power.
Try opening the door now, the door should open.

It seems that the timer has failed and needs a replacement. If this seems to turn around without clicking and if there is no action when the program cycle is initiated, this seems a failure of the timer controller unit. This happens in cases when it is turned around in reverse order or violently.
Dishwasher will not start
Is the door open or unlatched?
Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a
dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if it
believes the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons, etc),
interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed
backward will also cause incomplete door closure.
Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if
the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord,
make sure it is plugged in.
Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? (Some Models)
The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn
the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob
should click when you reach the start of the cycle.
Is the control lock option activated?
Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon)
for three to five seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions
are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the
controls.
Is the delay start option activated?
To cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel/Drain.
Has the motor stopped for less than 10 minutes?
The motor may have stopped due to an overload. If this is the case,
the motor will automatically reset itself within 5-10 minutes.
Is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?
Opening the door or interrupting the power can stop the cycle. Close
the door and press Start/Resume. If the Start/Resume indicator flashes
three times when you press Start/Resume, the dishwasher is waiting for
you to open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door, and
then press Start/Resume.
On models where the controls are on top of the door be sure to close
the door within 3 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume to start or
resume the dishwasher cycle.
Is the water shutoff valve (if installed) turned on?
Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on.

The diagnostic test is used to check individual component function only.
TO START THE TEST:
• Turn the Program Knob to the start position,
Spin Only.
• Press Start/Pause to start the cycle and save it.
• Press Cancel to stop the cycle and turn off the LEDs.
• Press Cancel again to turn on the LEDs.
• Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Options and
Start/Pause buttons until LEDs start sequentially
chasing, then release buttons.
1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a
button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in
that cluster at one time to confirm functionality.
2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the
start position. The hot water solenoid will activate
and hot water should enter through the detergent
compartment.
3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start
position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and
cold water should enter through the bleach
compartment.
4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start
position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids
will activate and cold water should enter through the
softener compartment.
5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start
position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and
the loading door can be opened.When the door is
opened, the drum light should turn on.
6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start
position. The washer will fill and tumble. Once
tumbling has started, the Boost Heater (if so
equipped) will turn on.
7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start
position. The drain pump & door lock solenoid will
activate and the washer will operate in high spin.
8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start
position. The control will signal the last error code.
Exiting Diagnostic Mode
There are two options for exiting theDiagnosticTestmode
and returning the washer to normal operation:
a) Unplug the power cord, wait 5-8 seconds, then
reconnect the power cord OR
b) Turn the program knob clockwise 2 or 3 clicks after
the start position. Press Options and Start/Pause
buttons together for a few seconds until wash cycle
LEDs appear.
