Spongebob television my spongebob television i got a few years back has been working fine.up until recently. my remote barely works for my TV,every once in a while it required me to hit the display or mute button and then power and it would up and work right away.now it does nothing. i do not know if it needs resetting,and if so how do i do this?

It may sound silly, but did you check the batteries inside the remote control? I thought I'd ask since you didn't mention it.

It may have been progressively failing in such a way that the IR transmitter on the remote control would get weaker over time. It's very hard to say in such a case as this.

The simplest and cheapest solution would be to buy a Universal Remote and be done with it. I know it doesn't fit the Spongebob color scheme, but it'll save you a lot of time and aggro. The remote is more than likely dead, anyway - if they don't work and the batteries have been replaced, there's generally no other answer.

My picture display is narrow and does not cover the screen.

Does the Genie box have screen settings in in? Sometimes hd will show in smaller screens. Makes the picture nicer. If you adjust the screen size with your remote the high definition "niceness" will not be there.

What is the code to go whith the spongebob tv on the dish network

I would suggest using a Power Scan to program the remote to this TV, if this doesn't work there is a compatibility issue.
Power Scan
1.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, then press 500 pound ( #)
2.) Hold down the clear "TV" button on the remote for four seconds, press the big power button once.
3.) Press the channel up button once per second until the TV turns off then press pound (#).

The spongebob remote is preprogrammed to the tv. If the remote is not working then you may be able to find a universal remote to operate the TV. If the TV is not receiving then no remote will help...

just get a generic remote and any tv shop .

Actually I found there are several remotes that work. The first is the Bright House networks remote, the larger one that they provide you when you get digial service.

The second is The Universal Remove Control by GE. It's numbered 24944 in the upper right hand corner of the paper. It's sold for $4.94 at Walmart in the checkout area...

I found that manually inputting the code for the remote doesn't work. You have to do a search for the code using their method...on this particular remote from Walmart, its hold the setup button down until it lights up, then press and depress the TV button...then press channel up until the TV changes channels. It worked once, but I just kept going, the 2nd time it worked, then I pressed the mute button [to keep the code] and it works...you simply press input and it switches to AV.

I have to admit I thought it was ridiculous that you can't use this particular TV without the remote, but I was happy that I went through the effort the first time to keep trying remotes...

This is the first kids TV that I have found that you can't find the AV channel by going through the channels AND you can't hook up two items to the AV outlets because you have to disconnect the back or front ones, to use the other....PLUS it only comes with a dual AV outlet, instead of the 3 plugs [red, white, yellow] only has the white and yellow.

I have the same tv and the same problem. The power switch in the front flashes a bunch of times, but nothing else happens. Have you had any success in getting yours fixed?

Emerson made Spongebob Squarebob tv/dvd REMOTE CONTROL

Yes, It is possible that the remote eye sensor was not connected at all & not tested. Usually done when the machine was tested & or repaired and not put back together properly.
If u know how to open (power off!! please) and get to the front where the 'eye' should be, just see if the wire is connected to the front end board., sometimes the "eye" is connected directly to the board, Then see if "eye" is blocked.
