Computer isn't communicating with my printer

I reinstalled my bundle on mac computer.  After this, I'm not able to print.  I have a canon pixma mx310 printer.  It shows up and lights up and does everything it's supposed except print.   If I copy something it works.  Just doesn't seem to be communicating to print. I have a PC and a Dell photo 924 printer. They've always worked together until now. Now I keep getting a message saying their not communicating. My computer acknowledges the printer is hooked up to it, I've unplugged and plugged everything back in, I've restarted everything, I've deleted the printer and reinstalled the drivers ... nothing. What is going on?

The MX310 is not a wireless printer. You must use a USB cable from the computer to the printer to print.

Canon MX310 - I'm trying to connect this printer to my network. Currently, I have the printer connected to an Airport Express but when I try to print from my iMac, I get a message that the printer is...

Adkinsdave, keep in mind that often having someone remotely connect to your computer with you and perform this task is easier than trying to walk you through steps and potentially missing a step. With that being said, the Airport Express was meant to make setting up a WiFi network in your own home a breeze.
We need to first determine if your Canon PIXMA MX310 has a Mac driver. According to the Downloads page at Canon.com, there are several Mac drivers available for OS X, 10.5 and 10.6: usa.canon.com - simply choose your OS on the pulldown from that website. Once your computer has the driver it needs to communicate with the printer, you can use your Airport Express to connect to the printer.
Obviously, make sure the printer is turned on and once you go through the Airport Express connect guide you should be printing in no time.
Let us know if there are still issues.

Canon mx310 feeds paper w/out printing

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Cannot print from Apple MacBook to Canon MX310

First, check your USB printer connection to your Macbook from your Pixma MX310 printer.

If the USB cable is securely seated, make sure you have installed the updated drivers for your version of Mac OS X. Here is the Link:
Canon Pixma MX 310 Drivers for Mac OS X (v10.6/10.5 and earlier).

If you have already updated your printer drivers to the most current Canon Pixma update for your version of Mac OS X, then click on the Apple menu icon, located in the upper left corner of your screen and select System Preferences.

• From System Preferences, select Print & Fax.
• Within the Print tab, make sure you can see your Canon listed in that window.

If you can, proceed to perform a test print on any document you have on your desktop or folder of choice. If this does not help, from within the Print tab, select the Canon and press the "-" Minus button and remove that printer.
• Once it is removed, now click the "+" button
and re-add your printer.
• Once it has been added, attempt to test print again.

This should help get your printer back to printing again.

Can't print to mac wirelessly (could do it a few days ago)

I had the same problem until recently. You have to install the drivers FROM THE CD that came with the printer, instead of selecting the drivers from the default list. Then, when selecting which printer driver to use (you'll have two options) choose Canon IJ and NOT Canon MX310 series. This is a problem with their MX310 driver, which is solved using a default/generic Canon InkJet (hence, the IJ) driver. Hope this helps!
P.S. This only works on Mac OS X. I have yet to figure out how to print wirelessly through Vista. Will keep you posted.
