I used my Acer scanner for years on my old computer with no problem. I installed it on my newer (rebuilt) computer. It all looks different now. I don't know if my son had it working through a different program (like Photoshop) or what. The thing is, that not long ago I successfully scanned a picture. I swear that in the startup menu, it had a mirascan scanner choice, which I don't have now. I realized that the installation disc that I have is disc 1. I can't find a second disc- my son may have taken it out of state- but whatever I did- maybe found the missing information online, including driver updates, I have lost this when I uninstalled and reinstalled while trying to solve this issue of not being able to scan successfully. The startup menu shows mirascan V 3.20, with choices of mirascan help and uninstall. I don't have the choice to go to mirascan scanner. It has 'copier'. In this, I seem to get everything ready to scan, but when I press the 'scan preview image' an error comes up saying 'set parameters failed'. I searched the entire help menu and it does not address this problem. I don't know what the message means- there seems to be no way to either set parameters or to remove them. Can you please tell me what I need to do? Thanks a bunch- Patti Rizzo
I have the same problem with my Acerscan 620U flatbed scanner which I have used for years, even with XP home SP2 & 3, after I reloaded the Operating system on the same machine, (after a crash) It would not work properly, so I searched for new drivers and softwareafter not finding anything useful here, I went to driverguide.com and found 2 files for the 620U. A zipped file containing the original (Win 95-98) install disks - 2Megs, (pasted from Driverguide);
Model
Acerscan 620U
Manufacturer
Acer
Operating Systems
Win95, Win98
Device Type
Scanner
File Name
disk1and2.zip
Uploader Notes
This is the install softwarefor the AcerScan 620U, which is the USB model. I wasn't able to find itanywhere on driverguide.com and when I tried to download the latestversion off of the Acer website it didn't work, crashed my graphicsprograms. This one worked perfect. How it works
Unzip disk1and2.zip.
This will give you disk1.zip and disk2.zip
Unzip disk1.zip to a folder called disk1.
Unzip disk2.zip to a folder called disk2.
Runthe 'Setup.exe' file in the 'disk1' folder - halfway through it'll askyou where 'disk2' is. browse to wherever you've unzipped disk2 andthat's it!
I also downloaded a 14 meg file "mirascanv403u10.exe" (<a rel='nofollow' href="http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?el=1&driverid=128406">Acer AcerScan 620U Driver</a>) which is supposed to work with W95-98, ME, W2000, XP (with mixed reviews)and Mac-OSX, I haven't tried either of these yet although I will try the Mirascan file first. For many users the difference may be that when setting up an XP machine you have the option to use a FAT32 file system or an NTFS partition, it may be that the software doesn't work with the NTFS partition/filesystem.
If you send me a request to [email protected] I will send you either or both of the files as an attachment until Jan 10 2009 then I delete them, (or you can get them from Driverguide) I'll also let you know what worked for me.

I'm having the same problem with my scanner Primascan Colorado 2400. Looking for a solution I landed on this page.
Website of scanner:
http://support.visioneer.com/products/tools/OS/DesignedforXP.asp
Answers there: nihil.
I bought this scanner some years ago. Worked very well with WindowsME, and until yesterday as well with WindowsXP-SP2 on my overall usually very compliant and compatible modern computersystem.
I used to scan from IrfanView. It always called the scanmanagerprogram very satisfyingly.
But as of yesterday following error-message:
(translated from Dutch) "Can't find entrypoint of procedure [email protected] in DLL-file ImgProc.dll."
I've noticed that WindowsXP has two ImgProc.dll's in \system32.
One from the scanner-installation and one probably installed with WindowsXP.
I've installed and reinstalled this very decent scanner several times. And it gets wel detected, without hardware-conflicts.
But, as it worked perfectly before on this same system, it suddenly doesn't anymore.
A pitty.
Maybe I will come back here when I've found the solution if noone else has by that time.
Greetings.

What computer system is it used with?
Posted on Sep 07, 2007
This scanner was produced and used in the Windows 95/8/ME era which were DOS based systems.
You have moved to XP which is a NTFS system - completely incompatible with DOS based scanners.
A scanner[and in this case its SCSCI card] has processor firmware which responds to DOS commands.
The computer is sending NTFS commands -they no talky to each other.
Two thing to try - Acer to see if a XP type software was produced for this model[probably not]
Check out the compatibility of the program/software.
Right click on program icon and click on properties/then compatibility/ then 'Run as for Win 98.
Come back to tell me what happens
Patti - it is likely- though I am not certain- the 'updated' drivers are no longer DOS compatible,
The only course of action is with ACER direct to see what they can suggest.
It is possible the old drivers and DLL's exist somewhere in a file for legacy equipment

I forgot to mention in my above post that my scanner is an Acerscan 620U Prisa USB- Patti
My computer is a Compaq with Windows XP home Edition It has an Athlon processor? 650+ MB of ram- i hope this helps, and by the way thanks for your help- sorry I forgot to rate it
I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but when I uninstalled and reinstalled the scanner it gave a message that the uninstall was incomplete. When I would try to open scanner it says a dll file is not found-
One says ImgProc.dll The specified module not found. The driver cannot be opened. I know this must be something simple- but so is my knowledge. I mean I had it working once, but i don't know what happened.
I just wanted to comment further that with both of us- the scanner worked for awhile with our newer systems- mine being XP home edition.
Why would it lose compatibility when it had it once?
I am going to redo the suggested compatibility test, as I have already updated drivers, etc. Could an updated driver cause the loss of compatibility?
I will work on this until i get a solution, which I will happily share! Good luck to those of you who have the same problem-Patti
