1990 - present. For sewing machines manufactured since about 1990, look for the model number on the handwheel side of the machine near the on/off switch or the electric cord receptacle.
1970 - 1989. You will find the model number on the front panel of machines manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s.
Singer Sewing Machine labels are printed in a confusing manner. E99670 50T8 is not the actual Model Number. The actual Model Number is the first 4 digits on the line with the Serial Number. In my case, the Model Number is1525, even though E99670 50T8 appears on the label at "Model Number". This machine was also labeled with other 4 digit model numbers too, depending on when it was manufactured. Using the Singer link for either free downloadable manuals, or paid paper manuals, search for the correct 4 digit model number and the resulting correct manual is there. Link below for manuals : http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html
When you enter your model number on the site, do not include any alphabet letters after the model number. For example, if your model number is 5050C, only enter it on Singer's website as 5050. This should help you find what you need.
Hi. The issue is probably because 17922 is only part of the model number. Your missing the prefex 385 which makes this model number actually a 385.17922. All Kenmores have a prefex before the actual model number. Other prefixes were 117 , 158 .
Hope this helps .
