Re: wireless router wnr834
An easier way of opening ports is to use DMZ, this will open all ports to one computer on the network. Go to the DMZ part of your wireless router, find out the computer's network IP address (192.168.1.x - x being your number) and enter it in DMZ and save your settings. Then take all the game related port forwarding settings out the router (don't touch DMZ after setting it up) and that should do the trick.
Saves messing around with individual ports.

At the Main Menu, press Shift + Alt + A to enable cheat mode. Now during gameplay, press any of the following:
[Alt]+[C] - All Missions [Alt]+[K] - Free Building, No Resources Required [Alt]+[X] - 100 Popularity and +100 Gold
Extra Peasants Use the following trick to get a lot of extra Peasants (more than the campfire limit of 24) for buying whatever kind of forces you need from the Mercenary Post or Barracks. For example, put your Quarries (3 Peasants each) and Oxen to sleep. There will be that many more in your available amount when buying Swordsman or something else. Then just turn them back on when you are done and they will go back to work. This works if you do not want to wait until your Peasants fill up your campfire again, or you just need them immediately.
Conversation keys The following is a list of things that will be said to an enemy after the corresponding key is pressed. Note: The spelling is the same way as it appears when done in the game.
[F1] - Oaf [F2] - Varlet [F3] - Fool [F4] - Knave [F5] - Peasant [F6] - Help Help [F7] - I win you loose [F8] - Ill string you up [F9] - You Damn Fool [F10] - Mwahaha (Snort) haha [Ctrl] + [F1] - Jack o napes! [Ctrl] + [F2] - Buffoon [Ctrl] + [F3] - Straw Pole [Ctrl] + [F4] - Slubberdagollian [Ctrl] + [F5] - Dastard [Ctrl] + [F6] - Dolt [Ctrl] + [F7] - Lollard [Ctrl] + [F8] - Dotard [Ctrl] + [F9] - Weasel turd [Ctrl] + [F10] - Popinjay
Put Your Enemy Inside the Castle Using an Oxe During playing this game, you maybe noticed that you can place your oxe teraten (oxe that use to carry rocks from a stone cury to stock pile), so you can use them to put your enemy keep inside the castle... Well how? Just put oxe in a way that they can stop the main gatehouse of the enemy castle and see the all instaltion of your enemy outside the castle will be demolish, this is best trick I use with saladin and wolf in many missions and they are unable to anything, but some time they destroy the oxe so you have to put them again.
These aren't really cheat but they may be helpful...I'll continue looking! Happy gaming....Later.....
If you tried my solution, then you would have opened all ports, so ports would not be your cause of lag at the moment.
The thing is, you do not need to open any ports at all to connect to a game server, you only need to open ports when you BECOME a game server.
The lagging will be down to your Internet connection, try to find a gameserver with a ping below 100. Alternatively, look for programs that consume your Internet connection like programs that are used to download MP3s and Applications as these will cause your game to lag heavily.
Anyone else on the network may also be downloading or uploading, which will have an effect on your game, too. However it is most definitly not a problem with your ports.
