HI, I just changed the blank in cartridge and it keeps telling me to reinstall. I don't think it's regestring that I just replaced it. I tried re installing in several times. I also turned the fax machine off, then back on and it still keeps telling me to reinstall. Can you help?? Thanks!!
I know this is a dumb question but did you remove the tape off he bottom of the ink cartridge? Also sometimes if you are using a generic ink cartridge the machine may not recognize it. Make sure the cartridge is seated in properly and that it is in the correct location. (not color spot). Hope this helps. John

First make sure that you are using Brother ink and not a generic or a refill their units are very sensitive. Follow these step first.
Unplug the machine from the AC outlet, wait approximately 10 seconds and then plug it back in. If the date and time appear on the display the issue should be resolved.
Is the unit saying NO Cartridge or is saying Ink Empty? Ink empty indicates one or more ink cartridges are empty. Change the cartridge that the LCD indicates.
If No Cartridge is on the display. One or more the cartridges is not installed properly or the vacuum seal has been broken. If you are using a brand that is not Brother this may be the case. Air may have been introduced into the ink supply tubes, if you have had the cartridges out for extended amount of time or if you have put the ink cartridge on its side. you may have to try a new set of cartridges.
First remove the Black cartridge, The LCD should prompt you to install black.
Reinstall the black cartidge Press down Firmly on the top of the cartridge until it is fully seated. Push the white plastic hook towards the cartridge to verify it is fully latched over the top edge of the cartridge. Repeat this step for each of colors. Make sure you put the cartridges in order that the LCD prompts you.Close the top cover. The unit should automatic ly start cleaning.
If no cartridge continues you may want to check with Brother for warranty options.
