The Onscreen TV Guide feature no longer works. When I attempt to access it, all that appears is the channel preview window...the rest of the screen is black. Also, I cannot access the TV Guide settings. Everything else functions normally.
TVGUIDE caused this problem when they began doing their conversion to digital. I can help you with this. You need the "EPK" file to upgrade the VCHIP. If you email me I can forward you the file and you will have acess to your TV GUIDE functions again it will take a few minutes. You will need an SD memory card to put the file on and put it in your TV..

The same problem occurred on my TV about the same time. I would be interested to know if you ever found a solution.

I have not yet found a solution. LG just tells me to take it to a repair shop, they are useless when it comes to customer support.
Same problem- no onscreen tv guide that seemed to gradually disappear- 1st the display came up with no available information, then disappeared entirely. Coincided with digital tv upgrades by local cable co.- LG no help, cable co. either. Around same time as others posting here, odd! Get small screen"picture-in-picture" to left hand upper corner of screen when try to access menu. TV no longer under warranty. [email protected]
I have the same problem. The initial problem occured when the TV Guide set-up screen appeared asking me which cable operator I used (this is after over two years of it working fine!). I selected the cable company and the screen went black except for the small video in the upper right. My TV comes on to this screen every time I click it on. I have to push the "Exit" button to get back to a normal tv screen. Also, my TV has no idea I have a cable box hooked to it any longer, yet I can use the cable by selecting the correct TV input.
I would like to do a hard reset to return to the original factory settings, but can not find info on how to accomplish that!
Same problem. I would be happy if there were some way to disable the TV Guide feature.
Everything that is being descibed here is what I am dealing with. Comcast says it's LG's problem and LG blames the cable card.
TV guide with LG says NO LISTING - will not update? How do we remedy this situation.
I have the same problem. LG said I need to schedule a repair.
