How do i hook up LG home theatre to my Rogers Cable TV?

What's the desired flow of TV-related audio?

Is it...

From the TV to the receiver and back?

From the cable Box to the TV and then the receiver?

From the cable Box (recommended) to the receiver in multichannel; from the cable Box to the TV in stereo for casual watching.

Before you choose, consider that a TV is just a lightshow for VIDEO and the receiver is in charge of the AUDIO so each should receive its unaltered specialty first.

What role does the second amp play in all this?

Last question: MOST IMPORTANT - do you have and have you consulted the manuals?--

Consider this: Is the TV a SOURCE for audio (tuning stations from an antenna) or is it simply passing audio through from elsewhere (Cable/SAT Box)?

If the former, you WILL need to route its audio output to the LG or be limited to TV-sound (yuk). Not knowing the model of the TV, I can

The mitsubishi model vs-60805 tv will provide air channels off of cable hook-up, but does not provide cable channels. What needs to be done to recieve cable channels? The menu does not provide an apparent...

Hi,
Mitsubishi VS-60805 is 1999 model tv and unable to receive digital cable channels because it is equipped with analog tuner that can not receive cable channels because it is almost 11 years old.
You need to hook Cable Box in AV input of tv, plug digital cable in cable box and get digital cable channels in tv. Cable box has its own remote control and inbuilt digital tuner to receive all digital cable channels and widely available in Store, Radio Shake, amazon.com etc.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Do not know how to get regular T.V. hooked up to this system

try using the red White cables from back of tv to back of dvd player/receiver. Do the same with DTV/dvr or cable box. not sure if cable box has red and white cable outlets, however the DTV-DVR does, The quick patch is from TV to back of dvd (input audio)side,....that should work

I have a RCA RT2870A that i need a manual or help hook it up to TV and DCD

This is the manual for the 2770 from RCA.com http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/manuals/RT2770/media/RT2770_UMEN.pdf

If it has the same inputs as yours, you need an "optical" cable that will go from the TV "output" to the RCA system "optical input" and a "Coaxial Digital" cable from your DVD player to the "Coaxial Digital input of the receiver. Not knowing what kind of TV you are hooking this up to... If it's and LCD,Plasma, or Digital TV, it will have an optical audio out. if it's not one of these, post the model number of your TV & I'll check it. If you are using Cable TV/Satellite or FIOS, Great! then you can run the optical cable from the back of the cable box to the receiver. If you need any more help, just post a comment and I can help you some more.

Hook cable box to this receiver

I have similar situation with my TXDS 565 and could not video out of my unit after hooking up the cables properly in and out of the unit for all auxilary modules... I assume that you have tried to place your vid IN from the cable box to your units vid IN and run a vid OUT cable or S cable to your TV. If this doesn't work for you as it did not for me, then you must run your cable direct to the TV vid IN and run your audio out from the TV audio Out back to your reciever as audio IN in the Video I or II ports on the reciever unit. This will give you audio control through the rec. unit.

I suspect that my is damaged and will not function properly; yours may be too,

My unit is about 10 years old and repair is too expensive so I will run it this way until something else fails and I will replace it... probably not Onkyo.,'

Let me know if I clearify any of this.

My Phase Linear UV8 and my Ipod

I wasn't able to find the manual for your Head unit. But, if you have jlink capability with your UV8 and you have an ipod jlink cable, you should just be able to plug the cable in. Then hook up your ipod and the head unit should recognize it when you try to select "ipod" for your source. I wish I could offer more info but like I said I wasn't able to see the manual and I am basing my answer off of what it takes for Kenwood headunits which use a similar "bus" type cable like your jlink. I hope I could help. Let me know if you need furthur assistance. I would happily help.

Cerwin vega ht-10d subwoofer won't work in yamaha reciever

Well, as I know, your Cerwin Vega subwoofer is designed for use with stereo systems. Therefore, it has only 2 channels for input, and 2 channels for output as well. However, you can try this out; the first thing I suggest is that you hook up your main front channels through the subwoofer. All you have to do is to connect the subwoofer input to the front channel output on the amp, then hook up your front speakers to the satellite output on the subwoofer. As long as you make sure that system is working on 8 ohms, I believe this can activate the subwoofer.
