Can't receive calls from a landline phone

Hi! I just purchased the A1200 and I can't seem to receive calls from a landline phone - I can receive calls from other cell phones but not landlines. I'm operating on Fido (basically the Rogers netowrk) in Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks =)

Get the name display disabled. you can keep the number display but phone will not work if name display is enabled

I have the same problem i can only receive private calls i called fido but they cant fix it help please

Yeah it's because i think you have the "name display" feature offered by Fido/Rogers i got the same problem lol. Call them up and tell them to take it off or change your package. a1200 doesn't support the "Name Display" feature.

we do not have Telkom, in USA , we are USA.
seem to me you are lost, 12000, miles away in India that uses Rupee, currency? we don't use that here either.

The voice mail and message service for your landline phone is provided by your landline service provider. If you did not receive a printed booklet directions for your landline phone service, I suggest you call your landline telephone service provider Customer Service number (Telkom) and ask for one.

From the Telkom web site, this looks like the number to call:

Hi
The first 2 answers sound relay dumb but always start at the beginning when diagnosing a problem. 1: make sure you're not placing your thumb over the Mic (located at the bottom, front of the device). 2: make sure Mute is not turned on, if it is tap it to turn it off. 3: if your using handsfree mode try picking the phone up and using it normally. There's no Mic volume control in the standard Matchbox based GUI but some 3rd party software does include volume adjustments so take a look at your settings in any control apps you have installed. lastly see if you get the same problem using a headset, you have not said if you are using the phone normally, with a headset/BlueTooth headset or in handsfree mode. Post back if non of this helps.

hi, it seems u r facing some trouble while receiving calls,. well, there's no such optional setting which would turn the flip speaker on/off,.. hence its clear that the prob is with the flip, my best advice is to give it for an authorized Motorola service center (as your phone comes under the warranty period i guess), and wait for the best to happen,.. regards, sheldon
