You should be able to access the A/V input by cycling through all available channels (using the Channel Up/Down buttons). You may need the A/V device to be powered on. However, if you programmed the Channel list to skip Aux, you may need to add that back into the list. You need the Menu function on the remote. Use the Up/Down arrows to navigate to Channel Set Up. Then press the F.Fwd (right arrow) to enter the sub-menu. Then select the Add/Delete Channel option.
Another way to access the A/V input is accessed by pressing the Game button on the original remote. (This also adjusts the screen lighting.) The game button is the middle button on the last row of buttons on the remote. If you do not have the original remote, you need one that matches that function. Here is one that is guaranteed to work: http://remotes.com/store/symphonic/sc3813.html . This one may also work: http://www.emtcompany.com/symphonic-sc3813-remote/rc64.html .

you have a Philco, TV\VCR Combo Your problem is the VCR.The rubber band that pulls in the Vhs tape and kicks it out is stretched, or damaged. The TV turns off to protect itself. You need a replacement. If u know how to get inside, look at the right side of the VHS section [you will be facing the back of the TV] be careful! "Electricity HURTS. It will be very hard to find the replacement VHS rubber band. There are 3 bands, replace them ALL!!, not just the damaged one.
Pulley belt stretched, replace.
Remove the back cover to tv, slide the chassis
out, remove speaker connector, and other ones
to allow the chassis to be out away from cabinet to take the metal cover off surrouding the vcr unit. Usually a couple of screws that hold
the whole vcr unit in, remove these, lift the
unit from the chassis carefully and check the
belt as it is stretched and not making tight
grip on the white pulleys that perform the
mechanical functions of the VCR. When putting
back together, and replaced the belt be sure to
lift the vcr door inward before sliding the
chassis back into cabinet so the door latch
will open and close properly, otherwise you
put a tape in and the door won't open back up.
