Question about Akai LCT3701AD 37 in. LCD Television
If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:
The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.
The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.
The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.
From description it looks like a faulty inverter, I think that is the first part to test.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

About fu101 , this is located on LCD controller board, that is the main controller board inside the TV.
Here the wiring diagram for the controller board.
Check the pictures below to find FU101:
This is the controller board:
This is the fues, on the left near to the squared IC on lower side of picture:
Note , if the TV has sound it is not Fu101, when the controller board fuse is gone, TV stays in standby.
You probably have a faulty inverter, just replace it.
Here is the inverter:

The inverter is an high voltage board and testing it may be an hazard. To test an inverter you read voltages in and out. There is high voltage on volt out to lamp.

I had lost +24V on my power supply (Megmeet MLT386) and found F2 on the power supply blown out (3.15A). This was caused by a shorted QA2/QA2A (both are 9N50C FET transistors) After replacing these I found it still did not work, I found that four .47 ohm SMT resistors at R233 through R236 were blown open, i replaced them with a single .1 ohm 2W resisitor, I also had to replaced transistor QF1 (marked 2X4). After replacing all of these components, I restored the +24VDC and the tv.

Hi,
can you see a back light on the tv if no it could be inverter board it self if yes the may be dry joints on the transformer on the inverterboard also check all the cable connections on the main board make sure the contacts are clean and fitted tightly good luck

Dear hpsaffold,
Can you test your TV with some type of alternative signal like a DVD or VHS tape and see if you get a picture with this method. Possible that you have a loose connection in the video circuit which got moved.
The memory chip may have gone bad, and will stay bad, here are the steps that will put it back into operation.
Using the remote that came with the television.

There are various circuits inside a television associated with height, width, colour, contrast, brightness, etc of the picture. More than likely the component (which could be one of many) is going to cost a few pence (cents), it's the call out charge for the techie thats going to cost.
If the television is newish or cost a lot then it may be worth repairing. Your choice..... cost of a call out charge + parts VERSUS new television with warranty

Its not the problem of any fu101 in your tv.its the problem of inverter board.and actually its not a big board.its like a thin rectangle chip board ogf green colour.

now ------ What is a LCD Inverter board for?
A:--it is for lighting a LCD screen like a backlight .and because the backlight is off you dont see the picture.actually there is piocture on the screen.but there isno light so you cannot see the picture and this inverter board produces light to the screen to bring the picture on the screen.
(just for explaining you i mentioned this question /answer that why you need inverter board.)

The problem is not the board but the colortube's CAPS need to be replaced.
you can get them from www.partstore.com or www.electronix.com
the caps are about $4 a cap. You will need a soldering iron to replace the caps

This occurs frequently on Akai and Samsung products.
Please take it to the store you bought from if still under warranty because you may not be able to get damaged parts elsewhere but from the manufacturer's authorised dealers. Dont dabble on the parts please.

If the porblem is No display (just back lite) Audio works.
Replace a small fuse on 370wa02c board then picture works.
I hope this will solve your issue.

fu101 is a 10A/250V fuse
any fuse with the same values is suffice....
but however dont use a lower valued fuse....

where is this fuse locate
I look on the wiring I did not seen fu101 or on the schmatic
I look on the wiring diagram and a schmatic but could not find that fu101,this is for alct3701ad that has sound but no picture.
I order a invert board,I check the fuse i do read a 1.7 ohms, I am hope the invert board is the problem, I will let you know when this board come in
