Samson G Track USB Mic

Hello,

I'm using Garageband (on a Mac) and can only get the sound out one channel. I'm trying to podcast and really need it out both. Have tried using 2/2/ mono selection but it just doesn't work at all then.

Any help gratefully accepted.

Same problem. Wondered if there might be a mac driver that I have not installed?

Seems to be a major problem with product. I only gives sound on one channel or speaker. I tried all Direct Monitor settings - no help.

Same problem - I'm a newbie on GarageBand and am coming up with the same thing.

Recording from built in mic - no problem - records both channels. I've tried about every combination of Inst/Mic and Line switches with Mono/Stereo/CPU

Same thing. Also, noticing in GarageBand that the volume control is grayed out in the vocal panel setting.

I know this is simple but.....  Also, Sonar Le was not shipped with my mic (I'll take this up with Apple). Could that be the issue.

    Thanks.

To get sound in both channels in Garageband for a podcast using the G-Track Microphone:    select a voice track to record into    make sure the Track Info window is open (blue i button in lower right region of screen)    at the bottom of the Track Info window you will find Input Source:    Change the default setting of Stereo to Mono 1 (USB Audio CODEC)
This assumes you have gone to Garageband preferences and changed the Audio/Midi settings for audio input to USB Audio CODEC which appears when you plug in the G-Track Mike

Don't worry guys same problem with mine but it's pretty easy to fix. When you arm for recording such as in Mixcraft 4 which is what I use, you click the little arrow and it allows you to change whether it records from stereo, left or right so choose left because the instrument records on the right and the microphone records on the left. If you choose left it will work seamlessly. I have a diff problem with the mic so please check my questions.

Aha I've got it!! Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, click Sound, click the Input button in the Sound pane, select ?Line In? in the sound input list, then drag the Input volume slider to set the input level.

Hi i have connected the Samson G-track with my macbook. also i using Nicecast & Traktor for radio broadcasting. when i talk from Samson G Track my voice comes only from left speaker. I try the...

This is because the G Track's Mic signal is on the Left channel and the Instrument signal is on the Right channel. You are making a stereo recording when you should be making 2 mono recordings. Does Nicecast have an option to set the track to mono Left channel? Traktor should, but I haven't used it so I can't tell you where the option is. There's probably a Track Input drop-down or something like that.

The mic does not record stereo anymore. when playing back a stereo works fine but when recording in stereomodus only the left channel records, the right channel seems to record silence/noise

This Mic is not a stereo Mic. If you're using a windows computer, check your sound control panel to see if the mic wasn't suddenly set to two channel device.

Whistling background noise with Samson C01U USB condenser mic

Welcome to the world of STUDIO microphones. Super quality BUT you must have a studio to use them. You can't have any local speaker playing into them. You often use headphones lest your monitor speakers will feedback. At the high frequency capability of these mics, you can fry your amps with oscillations above what you can hear!

Samson G-Track mic does not work with garageband effects

Look man just use the input as a way for your pre-amp's to plug in.... you don't want any of those built in guitar effects anyways... You just need a good multi pedal.. There are many good recording Pre-amps out there that work great and are fully adjustable for easy recording.. You can do what you want but, I think you will like the sound of pre-amp effects pedals in your computer set up....

Thats just a tip

Many Problems with Samson G-Track or not?

Hi.  I dunno if yur using pc or mac but with a mac yu need to adjust the mic settings on the comp. For the static its probably your set up or as i said in another guys problem, the usb cable given with it is **** so try using another one from a printer or wtv to see if that makes a difference for you. Also if you are recording just through the mic i find that it seems to only work well when the input is on line and not inst/mic. Hope this can be of some help. Its a great piece of kit once you get it working well.. Goodluck

Imac-samson-gtrack mic compatability

From the Samson Audio website...

"Ideal for the traveling musician or the project studio, the G-Track ships with a desktop mic stand, swivel stand mount, USB cable and all the cables needed to connect any musical instrument with a standard 1/4" or RCA output. The G-Track ships with Cakewalk's Sonar LE and works brilliantly with Apple's GarageBand."

If it states that it works with GarageBand, I would say that it would work on a mac.

Problem with computer recognizing Audio Microphone.

Check if you selected the mic as the default audio input on the respective programs.

No recording?

The static after several seconds seems like this is a problem with certain versions of OS X. You might be able to fix it by downgrading or upgrading. Apple Forums say that it's fixed in 10.5.6.

You can double check that this is the problem by trying it on a Windows computer.

Troubleshoot

The mic is on the left side. That's how it's supposed to work. You should set your recording software to only record the left channel on one track and the right channel on another track.

The level controls are the knobs on the front.

Samson co1u recording issue

you first 3 people are idiots... maybe if you had worked with the hardware you would know how the mic works because its obvious you don't. The 4th person is correct because this is exactly how i use the mic and it captures sound in stereo format beautiful when set up rite. Using it in mono, whether use keep on one channel or two drastically reduces the crisp sound that this mic can record.
