How to Fix Canon MP600 Paper Jam With no paper jammed?

I can understand your frustration, but if you promise to clean up your language, I will try to help you. :-)

It is possible that your step motor guide is dirty and as a result it thinks that the carriage is not moving properly. The step motor guide is a film about 4 mm wide that is stretched along the course of the carriage. You should be able to see it by using a flashlight with the cover raised exposing the ink carriage. It will be at the back of the carriage about level with the top of the ink cartridges.

Turn off your printer. Take some Q-tips and some alcohol (isopropyl). Soak one end of the Q-tip in alcohol and then gently rub along the top of the film. Change surfaces of the Q-tip as it collects up ink and dirt. Keep doing this until the Q-tip can pass along the film and remain clean. Repeat this for the underside of the film. Once this is clean and dry, move your carriage manually to the left and clean the area where the carriage sat.

If this doesn't work, then there might be a sliver of paper caught in the microswitch where the paper exits. There is also a remote chance that the connection to the switch is defective, but I would suspect the film first. Hope this helps.

Black film has come off

It's the band that connects to the print-cartridges, to pull that mechanism across the page. Since it has broken-away from the print-head, it's impossible to reconnect it. Salvage the ink-cartridges, and the power-supply, responsibly recycle the printer, and ask your spouse for permission to trade-in your son for a new printer.

Error message 5100 on Canon MX300 printer

If the ink cartridges are stuck you can manually slide them back to their default position and check for paper or junk which may have slipped down the paper chute and is blocking the ink cartridges.
Remove the blockage
Reset Printer
Done
I just had this problem and it was easy to fix.
If this not help, buy another printer! Cheaper than service...

Top and Middle button keeps flashing back and forth. Problem # 5110

5100 error will occur if the film strips has a dirt or most common if there s a drop of water or blots of ink..film **** strips are located at the carriage unit.when you open the cover
you can see it place horizontally at tha back of the carriage unit.you can try this
1. Open the cover and wait for ink carriage to center
2. Pull out power cord
3. Push carriage to far left (should slide easily)
4. Use paper towel and wipe purge unit a lot of times (press down to soak paper towel with ink). Repeat until the paper towel is relatively clear.
5. Use diluted napisan (oxygen-based cleaning agent in the ratio of 1:3 with powder:water) and soaked paper towel
6. Repeat step 4 with wet paper towel. Repeat until purge unit is near-white.
7. Pull and push clear plastic wiper (north of purge unit) and wiped it down
8. Slide carriage back to original position
9. Remove Print head cartridge and wipe out excess ink stuck on bottom.
10. Plugged power back on.and test

Printer is flashing checkprinter 5100

dear bria13,
Code 5100 indicates carriage operation error. The printer performs initialization process (include carriage unit operation) at first time we turn it on. During this process carriage unit will move right and left reading film timing **** strip. If carriage unit can read film timing **** strip successfully then it will move to home position (originally on purge unit part). Otherwise error code 5100 shows.
Here are possibilities and corrective actions:
  1. Film timing **** strip become mist caused by grease or ink; wipe film timing **** strip with moistened cloth.
  2. Carriage unit faulty;replace carriage unit.
