SOURCE: Unit won't turn on. Battery indifferent.

I bought these phones at a yard sale for $2.00, One phone powered up, the other did not. Of course the first thing you think is battery; right? Interestingly swapping the battery with the working ohone made no difference, the unit still would not turn on. After a close inspection, I noticed variation in the way and the shape in which the battery contactors were bent to make contact. I used a snall knife point and re-shaped the contacts into more of a vee shape, just like the ones on the working unit, I replaced the battery and the unit still did not turn on. I tried swapping batteries again and whala; the unit powered up and worked perfectly,

Your PL or DPL is not set correctly.

Check your owners manual, you can set this with the user buttons on the radio.
Press and hold the PTT button while turning the radio on. this will put the radio in the programing mode.
Be careful, if you do not know how to set the PL DPL or frequency you could make the problem worse.

The black U-shaped part will slide down and off the radio. It is one piece including the sides, bottom and part of the back of the radio.

SOURCE: motorola t7 - 1 unit has receive indicator

Hold in the PTT and the monitor button while turning on the radio (wait for the sounds to stop) will put you into programming mode. You can then use the menu button and the +/- buttons to walk you through the settings. Using this menu, you can program your radio to match your other unit.

To read out your master radio, put it in programming mode, and simply press the menu button to walk through the settings. Do not press the +/- along the way, as it would change a setting. Once your have your master radio read-out, you can proceed with programming the one you are having a problem with.

Best regards.

Sounds like you have check the settings. Which would be the first item to check: frequency, code and Qt filter (if any). You might try setting all of these back to a basic setting with only your frequency programmed. Turn all the others to off (or zero), including any other special features such as VOX or call tones. If your radios do not work in this basic simple mode, you may have a deeper problem.

Also, check your batteries. If you are using rechargeable batteries, they may need replaced. They have an 18 month life expectancy. It takes more energy to Transmit than to Receive, so when a battery is going bad, the first thing to leave is Transmit. You can try swapping the batteries to see if the problem changes. But if both are the same age, they both could need replaced.

TLKR T60 and Amytel AW1010T. Is there any way to pair all four together? (Walkie Talkie)

Amytel and Motorola may not use the same numbers for their frequencies. You need the actual manual for both models and you cross check the actual numbers. Do this for the Codes or Tone section also. This happened a lot in early days of consumer radios and still happens with chinese imports. Best of luck.

I have this pair of Motorola TLKR T3, both in normal mode: I speak on 1 and hear on 2, I speak on 2 and I cannot hear on 1.

Check your batteries and clean your battery contacts with a pencil eraser. Transmit is the first thing to go when you have a low, bad or poorly connected battery. It would make a radio appear not to transmit to the other unit. Trade batteries between the units and see if the problem moves to the other radio, this would let you know if it is simply a battery problem.
Secondly, check your mic opening on radio two and make certain it is not covered or has debris in the hole.
You mention you have the manual, I will attach a link to the manual for others reading this post who may not have it.
When looking at the manual it appears using monitor mode checks for a weak signal. If this is the only way your radios will work together you could have one of the following problems:
1. Bad battery
2. Too far apart
3. Not on the same channel as one another
4. A radio with an internal problem

Motorola TLKR T3 one way not working but Monitor works...

Check your Private Line (aka interference eliminator code, tone code, PL, quiet call). It sounds like you have one radio set with a PL setting and the other one is open squelch (no private line). All settings for frequency and PL code need to be the same between the two radios.

We don't have a manual for the T3, but I am attaching one for the T5, which may be similar. http://www.motorola.com/web/Business/Products/Two-Way%20Radios%20-%20Unlicensed/_Documents/TLKR-T%20series/Static%20Files/T5%20Manual%20EU.pdf
