I have hp-compaq 610 and my touchpad is not working. Pls help me fix this problem ASAP

You have to download an add-on from the available software downloads for your device on the website.
All you need to do is to follow the link below and scroll down to the Driver-keyboard, mouse and input device section.
Download the first file that says Synaptics TouchPad Driver.
After download, install the file and restart your computer. This would help you use your touchpad scroll again.

try to uninstall/reinstall the driver of your touchpad and the software after removing the driver restart the computer and reinstall it including the software if still doesnt work try to boot to safe mode to check if it still not working if it still doesnt then it needs to be replaced

You will need to install the WIndows 7 drivers for your touchpad from HP. I have recently been on HP's site and find VERY few Win-7 drivers for any of the older machines.

i am using windows 7 in my laptop compaq610 model webcam device is already installed but it is not networking.is any software to be used or what?

There are two reasons for this, wrong or missing touchpad driver, or scrolling is disabled. First go to HP... http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html

put in your exact model number and click on the drivers link, download the touchpad driver and install, scrolling is automatically enabled. When you download a new driver it will over-write the present one and all it's settings.

try to install the driver for touchpad, if the same check the hardware.. or try return to vista if working properly it means some problem for os xp.. because you downgrade the system...

hp company advice all user to do not downgrade but we can we use xp. the problem only not compatible some drivers
