Thanks for the response. I was able to get the printer working. I noticed that the empty/pause light was on. Not sure why it was on as I couldn't find any settings set to pause and it definitely wasn't empty. :0 I'm thinking that some dirt tripped the sensor or something. Thanks for the response. You can adjust the darkness level +/- 10. If you adjust it all the way to 10 and it is still too light, there is a print head pressure adjustment screw to the left of the ribbon feed roller.
the empt ause light is related to the loading of the label
turn off printer open side door and release print head feed label stock so that it stays up against the back side of the machine(left side as youface front)
Teh print head pops up like a **** shell also make sure the label stock goes under the photo eye which senses the gap between labels
There are a series of dip switches which put the printer in manual mode which is required to install labels and make sure the machine advances properly
the switch settings ar locatd on the inside for the side cover or on the very back I think manual mode is 1onat top bank and 1 on at bottom bank
Once you do this turn machine on and it shuld advance two labels and stop and green light should come on
Now you can switch the machine to compter mode ( not sure of switch setting)
If you need help yoan contact Scan Source technical support they are distributor
Good luck these are good printers and will give good service once you are familiar with them
I've printed images over 500kb. Can you print a small image? If not, perhaps the driver is the problem.
If you're trying to send a text file of IPL commands to the printer, set up a Generic Text printer driver, to to send the file as ascii characters instead of as a graphic image. You can set this up in addition to your Intermec driver.
Go to Printers and Faxes, Add Printer, Next, Select the Port, Select "Generic" Manufacturer, "Generic / Text Only" Printer, and give it a name like "Text". Cycle the printer power to clear previous attempts, then print the file to this printer name.
I am using Smartforms with Intermec printer 3400-e and it works in the correct way.
What is the software that you use to build the layout of the label? In my case Loftware.
What is the code to print the Barcodes.
In my case Code 39
If you're using this printer on a print server then do the following
Turn Printer Off
Disconnect Data Cable
Press & Hold Feed button whilst switching on
Keep Holding Feed Button until test label is complete and light has gone red
Switch Printer off
Reset your Print Server
Plug Data Cable back into printer
Switch Printer on
This should start it printing (unless there are jobs inthe print queue, if there are then they will need to be deleted before printing will commence)
