My dryer vent is not clogged, i've cleaned it over and over. Although the dryer does not seem to be catching the lint it used to.
I normally set it on the star for everything (ultra dry). Now it seems to not heat up, but if i run it on the shortest timed setting, everything gets very warm and dry, like it used to do on the star setting.

Re: problem with my Kenmore 62622 Electric Dryer
It could be the elements inside dryer, one or more could be bad, the different settings causes the dryer to do different things, so whatever your setting on ultra dry may not be operating at full force. Hope this helps.

HI, Check the following to address this issue further.
Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).
1. Venting Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.
Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.
2. Thermostat There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat. These thermostats are located in the dryer vent duct and sometimes mounted on the blower assembly as well.
Very common problem. You need to call a duct cleaning company and tell them to clean your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents should be cleaned every couple of years to prevent them from being clogged with lint and causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem. Good luck :)
p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is to go outside where the vent exits the house and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.
sounde like you have a clogged vent line be shure the vent hose is not cinked in any waty that would restrict the air flow. Next turn the dryer on and make sure you and a good flow of air out side the house if the air is not blowing out the vent out side you will need to clean this out or have it cleaned.
THE PROBLEM IS YOUR WALL VENT CLOGGED OR THE BACK OF THE DRYER VENT HOLE IS CLOGGED,IT KEEPS THE MOIST HOT AIR IN THE DRYER SO YOUR CLOTHS TAKE FOREVER TO DRY,THEY MUST BE CLEARED FOR THE DRYER TO WORK AGAIN-MIKE
