SOURCE: Bi-Amping my speakers with HTR-5850

You can at a minimum, bi-wire your speakers by wiring the speakers with the A and B speaker outputs. The A speaker outputs end up running the tweeters and the B will end up powering the woofers.

I only found this on the manual
"...
if the power is cut for more
than one week, the parameter value you edited will
return to the factory setting."

SOURCE: I HAVE A YAMAHA A/V RECEIVER HTR 6130. I

First of all, here is the direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/Yamaha-HTR-6130BL-Manual.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, and then just follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

See page 53-57 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how to set the remote control codes or reset them to factory settings.

To reset all codes back to factory settings do the following:

Press and hold AMP button.
While holding that button down, also press the AV POWER button for 3 seconds.
Now let go of those buttons.
Then use the number keys to enter the following code: 9981.
REMOTE SETUP OK should then appear on the front display.
The codes are now all reset to initial factory settings.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.

My htr-5850 just stopped producing sound while using the cable TV. I muted it once and when I took it off mute I have not been able to get the TV's sound to work since. I have no idea what to do. Any...

How is TV sound coming into your Yamaha? If it's from the TV analog audio then maybe the TV's audio output is muted.

If it's from the Cable Box maybe ITs audio is muted. I'd refer to the guide for the Cable Box.

MUTE on the receiver is not source-specific.

How do I hook my ipod to this yamaha device HTR-5850 -- is there a piece of hardware I can get to interface? thanks

Get a 1/8" miniplug-to-RCA-cable adapter and plug the headphone output directly into any compatible input on the receiver. Press PLAY.

Read the article (it's short). Don't buy into the hype about better cables. IPOD's don't stack up as hi-fi to begin with and cables are cables are cables....

How do I connect pc to htr-5850

You will need an adapter cable available on ebay or at radio shack.

Should have a 1/8" mini male stereo plug on one side and a set (left and right) male RCA plugs on the other end.

Simply plug into the output of your sound card or motherboard (usually blue or green) into any available input (EXCEPT PHONO) on your receiver.

select that input and it should work

hope that helps

No highs being produced, only the bass. Cant figure it out

Try using the customer service help on the www.yamaha.com website with your problem. The service center location telephone number is 1-800-492-6247. Try finding a service center in your area and call them and ask for technical assistance. They have a frequently asked question section, but could find no information on how to use your unit with play station 3. It sounds like a problem with the amplifier bandwidth not giving full operation. You can try to reset you receiver to factory specifications with the help of your owners manual. This might solve your problem. I hope this helps you with your problem.
