Bought this TV Dec 2001 and she has been great except for some strange behavior on the inputs. We never were able to use the front panel jacks for a camcorder or a game. Then we tried the inputs on the back and none would accept a game signal, the picture is just a wavy mess of color and a very faint image of what is trying to play through.
We use the DTV input for all the Satellite and DVD signals. Tonight we decided to try to hook up a new Oui game and we bought the component video cable and we tried all the inputs including the DTV with no luck.
We went back to play a DVD or TV signal and now nothing will play through and jack!!! Any ideas?

Since the problem appears only after the unit has been run for a while, I'd be looking for any part close to a heat source. The odd behavior suggests that there is noise on the data lines for the volume control chip and the digital processing areas. Look for a bad 5V regulator +/or bad caps on the 5V line. Also check for poor solder connections in the power supply and final output stages.

try to reset the tv throught the menu options, if that fails then the video inputs or video components in the tv needs repaired, if you have a "S Video" input you could use that or have the TV repaired.
That works great except I can get the tuner to program any channels above channel47. Is this a limitation of this older model TV
yes there is limitation in old tv.
is there some setting I can change in order to get more channels using the tv tuner?
in INDIA what we do is put a remote control ckt which gives us about 250 channels.
of course we replace tuner also called hyper tuner along with remote ckt or replace whole kit which are cheaply available.& serves the purpose.
hope this will help
