when you say board....you dont mean the internals of the head unit do you?.....could it be the ground?.....i hooked up the ground there the bestbuy guy did it before....and it was not on the chassis...it was a ground black wire from the factory rario...once again....the ground is not on the chassis....any suggestions about this two questions?

i will try the ground on chassis, i have a feeling thats it, even though my previous pioneer was hooked up the same way this one is,and it didnt do it. hopefully the ground is the problem, and will solder the positive also,, if that doesnt help, then inside the unit i will check...wich i shouldnt cause alpine should of done a good job soldering things inside, many thanks.

One of the circuits on the "board" may be loose, or poorly soldered. I had a similar issue with My Pioneer unit. I checked them all, added some solder to the loose ones, and it was as good as new. Best of Luck.

I mean inside the unit itself.

It could be the ground as well. I would add a ground to the chassis, my friend worked for Best Buy and he was an idiot. They DO make mistakes too.

    Best of Luck.

Im not sure which plugs I should plug my RCA cables that come from my amp to the reciever. I dont know if its the "back RCA output" or the "Front RCA output" or the "subwoofer...

First of all get yourself a Y-LINK cable. (single male RCA on one side/ double female RCA on the other side) Connect the Y-LINK to your head unit sub woofer output with the stereo RCA that leads to the sub woofer amplifier. Now you are connected to the correct output. I do not know what head unit you had connected before to base your comparison, however there is a output voltage difference from one head unit to another, (1.2V, 2V, 2.5V, 4V, 5V) and that is what determines where the gain on the amplifier should be set to. Always match the headunit output voltage with the amplifier gain control to be the same. It is not uncommon for some entry level units to have a single sub woofer output. dreamsystems

My sub woofer has recently stopped working. I borrowed and hooked up a friend's subwoofer and still doesn't work. However all my other speakers in the car are still working. Could this be the amp? If the...

If you only have the sub connected to the amp, the other speakers would still play, if they are just connected to the head unit. I would check for power and remote power to the amp, and check the ground, if those are ok, I'd say the amp is bad.

How do I hook up one sub to my rockford fosgate p3001 amp

Hey i have looked over many rockford manuals,(i own a 300.1 my buddy owns a 325.1) and for there mono(.1) amps there hooked together on the inside so channel A+ and B + are cencted on the inside the amp. So you ither hook one 2ohm sub to channel A or you can hook 1 4ohm subs to channel A and 1 4ohm sub to channel B. There 2ohm stable so any lower will eventualy burn the amp out.

I can't get my radio to recognize my ipod

im having this problem too,do you have one of the new ipods,i believe the alpine cda9883 is 2007 model,so i think the reason the ipod wont work is that its too new and the alpine dont recognize it,maybe you can try getting an older version of itunes not the new itunes9

Alpine sub woofer

your speakers are hooked up wrong. hook both positives together and both negatives together and bridge it to the amp. if it is one channel hook it up as one together. if it is 2 channel hook positive to one side and negative to the other side.

CDs and Ipod wont play with Alpine CDA-9885

The Alpine has two tigger wires when it turns on. One is an AMP TURN ON wire (blue/white) and a PWR ANT wire (blue) and that wire only comes on when using the radio or an optional HD radio unit ... When it was installed/connected . someone hooked your amp turn on wires for your "full range amps" to the PWR ANT wire. And the sub amp trigger is either hooked correctly to the AMP TURN ON WIRE or somewhere else, it probably shouldn't be... Check it. Amp triggers should all be to the blue/white wire from your alpine. Warning: Alpine trigger wires, are very easy to mess up they supply a very limited amount of power.
