I am totally computer illerate. I know how to turn the thing on, use the internet, send mail, all that stuff. But, I can't figure out for the life of my whats happened to my Dell.
My computers worked fine for a while but just a few weeks ago it's been really messed up. One day it was normal, and now... my internets been deleted, my files are gone, and it says I can't change anything because I'm not an "authorized user"? It's my computer! I'm seriously getting fed up with my computer and I'm about ready to chuck it. What happened and how can I fix it? It keeps telling me that I need to delete files but again it's telling me I'm not an authorized user. I'm not sure if this is considered a hardware problem, or a software- but I do know is that my University requires that you have their security system and password acces to your computer. Please, anyone that can help me... I'm desperate....
The problem i think lies with the virus infection. if you do have an antiviru update it first and let it do the boot scan as some virus act like a windows files after the computer is on. to pacify this pleae update your antivirus and let it do boot scan and let it delete all the infected files.
2. If you don't have an antivirus go this link www.avast.com and download the avast home edition and use. i usualy recommend the avast antivirus.
3. With this download spybot search and destroy and let it scan for any spyware also.

The first thing is restart your computer from total shut down. After if you still can't get your mail check your Internet connection in settings or double click the icon at the bottom right side of screen to see if it is connected.if it is then contact your email server.i have had times when my mail was down but not for days. Good Luck.
If your browsing is normal that is that if you can access pages without
any problem then there is nothing wrong with your ISP (Internet service
provider like Crazy John etc) There is nothing wrong with those
companies or at least at there side.
In order for you to access your email using Microsoft outlook you need
to configure your outlook first before you can use it for email. I
advise you to first practice or work with web mails like hotmail and
If your the email you are sending comes back please reconfirm the email
address of the person your are sending email mail to is not correct. One
simple way to test your system for email is that you can send your
email to yourself on your email address [email protected] You
will recieve your own email. That definitely indicates that your email
is working properly.
