Icemaker/water not working

After having a new floor installed, the floor guys swear they only disconnected the water for a minute (or so...). Now, I have no water or ice. I tried replacing the filter thinking that something became lodged but that wasn't it. I've read some of the advice for similar problems but I'm not sure what it is I should be checking. Any advice ? desperate and frustrated

Start with the basics did they close the water valve? make sure you have a flow of water to the refrigerator. next check to see if you have ce in the water line in the back of the freezer... then you can check the refrigerator water valve has power when it is called for.. let me know if you still need help.. krazytech

Floor was soaked with water then our icemaker quit working. what could be wrong

I had that happen and it turned out the cat had bitten through the water line that feeds water to the icemaker. Water had gushed out of the line onto the floor and since the icemaker couldn't get any new water to make ice with, it quit working. A clog, the line simply coming disconnected or a different kind of pet going after the line could also cause this problem. Luckily, a new line isn't expensive, and if you rub some habanero sauce on it, the cats and the rabbits both leave it alone.

My icemaker shoots water every where. What can i do?

If the water was still running then the water inlet valve where you disconnected the water is stuck. It can get sediment in it causing it to stick open. Clean it or replace it.

Icemaker continues to run water for several minutes

Change your icemaker module. It is getting stuck in the fill position. They are about 50 dollars or so and are held on with 3 screws normally.

Water leaking from icemaker on outside

If this is your water dispenser leaking
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Icemaker and Water Dispenser won't dispense either....

Do as the guy above suggested? This more than likely is the problem. It is not expensive to replace. The question is, can you do it? If you can check to see if the valves are bad, buy new ones and try to do it yourself. If you are uncomfortable, then get a tech or a friend to help you. At least your frig is still working.

Water coming into refrigerator

Evelyn,

More than likely (I can't be sure from here!), your icemaker "motor module" has failed. This module controls the amount of water that goes into the ice tray. If the timer fails, the water valve can stay open. Also, if this is a new unit, or a used refrigerator you just installed, all you may need is to reset the timer on the motor module. The icemaker must be removed to do that. The tray fill time varies with the local water pressure. If your water pressure increases for some reason, the time must be shortened to avoid overfilling the tray.
