Ice making not making ice

Cycle the icemaker with the reset button. It is located on the bottom-front of the icemaker. Press and hold for 8 seconds to complete a cycle. You should hear an audible reset tone from the refer when complete. If it still doesn't work later in the day, it may need replaced. These units are well known for deplorable ice making capabilities. Samsung considers 60-72 cubes per day to be acceptable. I consider it an insult. For the icemaker reasons alone, I am looking into another (domestic) brand.

Ice Maker isn't making much ice

check the temp in your freezer it should be about -2 degrees if not it wont make much ice and you probably dont have enough air flow due to coils froze from not defrosting properly or the little fan motor in the freezer is not working. You will have to remove the inside back freexer panel to check either one. also if you have a water filter on your line check that.

If the machines ice storage capacity is 26 lb per a day then that is all it will make in a 24 hr day Now this depends on water temp entering the machine, the ambient temperature around the machine and the condenser coil and fan is not dirty. Now the machine is capable of making 33 lb of ice in a 24 hour day but the storage bin capacity is only 26 lb if you don't remove any ice it will make only around 26 lb and shut off until it melts and causes the ice maker head to start.

The Ice is not sliding out completely over grid

Limescale on the plate sticks to the ice. Descale with proprietary descaler and make sure the plate is scrupulously clean. If the timer is adjustable, give it an extra minute harvest time, and make sure condenser is clean as a whistle! Also check icemaker is level so block slides down onto cutting grid easily

My LG refrigerator will not produce ice cubes, only crushed ice.

Hi,
Ice maker makes crushed ice.
1)For every 6 moths or 1 year you have to replace the filter. The decreased flow is caused due to filter problem. You said you cleaned the filter and the problem still persist.
2)Check the valve see the below picture how ice dispense parts interconnected.Thepat no 15 the valve which will be blocked by ice or dust you have to remove it.Can you see the valve 22 will connected down of water tub.SO check the valve is not frozen.

Simple if the valve decreased flow or crushed cubes means there is some block.May be due to dust or frozen ice.

Note:Just switch of the switch for 8 hours or more and let the frozen ice melts on the valve. Please see to it all the frost melts fully.

post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)

My cme 256a8 model scotsman ice melts to fast will not fill my 250 lb. bin in four days. What is the problem? in a hour run time it makes 7 lbs of ice and 4 lbs. water. in one dump cycle it makes 3 lbs...

There are a couple of things to check. The machine must be level. You can remove the front cover and the plastic sheet that covers the plate where the ice is made. Check to see that the water is flowing from the manifold at the top of the plate. You may have to pop the hose off the end of that manifold to clean the water holes out. It must flow evenly over the plate. Probably the most common problem is the radiator coil there the fan draws air through is clogged up so that it can't dissapate heat properly. You should be able to feel a lot of hot air moving through the coils. The fan cycles on and off periodically to maintain a certain pressure in the freon. That is normal. Clean the fan coils and level the machine.

Slow ice cycle

Are you having any temperature related symptoms, i.e., soft ice cream that appears to have melted slightly and refrozen, soft breads in the freezer, warm or hot outer surfaces anywhere? If cooling is not a problem whatsoever, are any of your ice cubes smaller than normal, or do you have hollow ice cubes; you would be able to crush the cubes in your hand? If either of these pertains to you, you have not enough water coming to the ice maker, due to a faulty water valve not opening completely, or your water source pressure is low. disconnect your water line from the fridge, test pressure of the water line by placing end in a bucket, turning water on. It will be obvious how the pressure is. if pressure is good to really good, you have a bad water valve on the fridge. If pressure is so-so to bad, change source water valve.
If cubes are not small nor hollow, but rather normal full size cubes, just not enough, you probably have an intermittent problem with your icemaker, replace that.

Small production of ice? What should be the normal production of ice?

The way I understand how Hoshizaki machines work, the model number is usually what the unit will produce, in pounds of ice. Their manual states: "Approximate production/ 24 hours @ 70 degrees air/ 50 degrees water (incoming)" So, yours should be producing 450 pounds a day, approimately. Since I can not pin point your exact model, I found one that is close. It states: "Ice Production per cycle: 6.6 pounds, 360 pcs." Again, it is not you exact machine. Their web site does not show this model either. So this is the best info I can get for you. Hope this helps.

No ice saved

If it's makes a good slab of ice the only reason it would melt would be a drain blockage holding water in the bottom of the unit or the water pan overflowing into the bin when it fills up. If you check the slab when it falls on the cutter and see a hollow looking spot in the middle you may have an evapoator leak. Yhis would require a service tech to repair.
