Dacor cooktop igniter clicks but burner does not ignite. This is true for all burners. after repeated attempts the burners will start - What can I try?

Take a hairpin or a toothpick and clean the hole near the igniter so that the maximum amount of gas can flow to the spark is what I would try.

One of the burners on my Dacor 4 burner gas cooktop no longer ignites automatically, it just continues to spark, but it will light with a match. Is this something I can fix myself, and if so, what should I...

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Our Dacor gas cooktop igniter won't click. When I turn on the burner, you can hear the gas coming out, but no click so the burner won't lite.

Go to RepairClinic.com and check on how much a new igniter is. Is there two or 4 igniters on your model (lift the top of the range up and it is the little silver piece sticking out with a white base around it), If its 2 is the other side working? Make sure there is no food deposits around where the gas and the spark meet.

Whirlpool Cooktop igniters keep firing, even after igniting

when you cleaned the unit you may have gotten water in side the igniter, dry it out w/ a hair dryer. Once dry should work .

Stove top ignition doesn't stop ticking

My Dacor cooktop had a similar problem of continuously clicking igniters. I unplugged it a couple months ago and used a piezoelectric igniter to get it started. Then I looked in the Dacor FAQ and it said to clean the ceramic igniter posts with alcohol not water. I had to scrape some gunk off a couple of the posts with a knife before cleaning with alcohol. Now it works.'

I think the igniters use electrical conductivity to detect when they need to spark, so even slight invisible contamination on the igniter insulator can confuse the sensing system. Also they all seem to fire as a group, so all of them need to be clean because if any one of them is dirty then they will all malfunction.

Dacor ignitor keeps clicking

Dacor has updated ignitors with a broad head. Install the new ones and it will very likely cure the problem. You'll need a special spanner wrench to remove the burners. And watch out for the flying keeper clips.

Dacor gas range igniter clicking

I did have the same problem after the house keeping people done with cleaning. They used window/surface cleaner. First I asked them not to clean the ignitor with any cleaner. Here is what I did to solve the problem
I took scotch scour pad (one that you use for washing dishes), In dry state I polished ignitor switch. It is abrading the residuals and deposits on the top and polishing it. Don't use any thing more abrasive than that. MAGIC - I don't have any more problem.
