Indicates incorrect length chain in use
the adjustment slots should be about 1/3 when fitted moving close to 1/2 when adjusted
the correct adjustment is when the chain in the center of the bar is lifted up the bottom segments of the chain are still in the bar groove
make sure that the oiler hole is not blocked from saw dust and chips

SOURCE: Chain is not getting oil. 3 hours on new 455
I saw many issues with the oiler on this model, the oil pump itself never goes wrong, there was a later filter as the original was too fine and would not allow sticky oil through, there was also issues with the oil pipe kinking and not allowing oil through, there was also a mod to increase the oil flow,it meant removing the oil pump shaft and increasing the throw by grinding the back of the pump shaft, if you have cleaned the externall oil ways and the problem persists, then it does lie deeper, you could try to thin the oil out and try again, if no better this will be a shop job. If you feel you could do it yourself, let me know and i will try to go through the mod with you.
SOURCE: I have a Husqvarna 455 rancher that has stopped
Most 455s have a three position oil pump, the adjuster is a slot head screw acessed through the bottom of the crankcase, try increasing the flow first, if no better, you need to remove the clutch and sprocket to gain acess to the pump, the oil pump drive gear is nylon and driven by the sprocket, check this is in good condition, behind the pump is a pick up pipe that pushes into the tank via a moulded grommet in the pipe , gently lever this out of the tank,on the end is a filter. if you are brave enough you can increase the throw of the pump shaft by grinding a steeper angle on it, but this is a skilled job and a last resort, i have had to do a few where they are running longer guide bars and need more oil, let me know if you need more help.
SOURCE: loose chain
