Pioneer DJM500 Mixer - Bass EQ Control on Channel 2

I have a Pioneer DJM500 mixer. The bass EQ control on channel 2 seems to have died a death. Everytime I touch the control the bass either cuts our or maxes out, basically it is uncontrollable.

I've managed to find a spare part...a PIONEER DCS 1053 POTI EQ. Will this do the job? Does anyone know if I can fix this myself or should I take it to a repair shop. Would changing this part even solve the initial problem anyway?

Many thanks in advance!

You might want to clean the exisiting potentiometer with dielectric solvent. This might work without having to replace the Pot. But if you have to replace it, make sure you have the correct tools. This is a fine soldering job, but it appears you have the correct part.
