I bought an Acer Laptop 3 years ago, and last week, it suddenly went off. No lights, no screen, no nothing. I brought it to a repair store and told me that my Laptop is dead. Is that it? Cant do anything to revive?
You should get more information from the repair store and you would do better to go to a laptop specialist. Look at the price of new and second hand laptops before you comit to a possibly expensive repair. It is possible to take your data from on laptop to another, if that is what is important.

The LCD screen may be faulty. I suggest you borrow a monitor to test your laptop if you do not already own one. If the laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then connect an external monitor to the laptops video port. Power up the monitor and then boot up the laptop and the video information will automatically divert to the external monitor. If this works then you have a working laptop.
Hi there some how your laptop screen pressed & the screen is damaged. Just the option is replacing the screen. Another reason is over heating of screen by manufacturing default. Your laptop still under warranty so i suggest you visit the Acer service center & claim the damaged things if your screen does not have any over pressed symptom then. I hope you understand me. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
When I opened my laptop this morning my computer won't come on. The screen is totally black. I took out the battery and put it back in ---- still nothing. I plugged it in with the power cord --- nothing! What is wrong with my HP Compaq Presario CQ60?
it would be cheaper to get a net book and an external hard drive you can get a good one for about 200$ and an external drive enclosure for like 20 and a used hard drive for like 30-40
I'm afraid this sounds like a fairly major hardware failure to me (possibly motherboard) your best bet is to contact Acer and see if there is any help they can provide
Put the laptop in the freezer for a couple hours. i heard that can temporarily fix a problem with a Hard Drive. If it works then quickly back up the Hard Drive and get a new one and upload everything onto that one. Caution: i dont know any side effects of freezing the laptop so freeze it at your own risk.
send the machine back because it is faulty, if you bought it from a
store you have the right to have it replaced with the same model or one
of higher value
