I just purchased this TV from a frined about 4 months ago for a really good price. He purchased this unit about a year ago brand new and never had any problems with it. The unit was working perfect ever since i brought it from him and all of a sudden last week Tuesday I hit the power button on the remote and the TV turned on after about 10 to 15 seconds, which is normal but after it turned on it all of a sudden turned off. Now when ever I hit the power button the power light flashes on the TV which it normally did before it powered on but after 10 to 15 seconds the screen still stays blank and you can hear a like light rattling sound coming from the TV not sure what that is. I am not sure if a bulb blew or what is wrong with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sounds as you have a bad ballest. The ballest is the power supply that turns your lamp on.
You can check your lamp by removing it and it should be clear and no broken pieces of glass.
With the lamp removed install the cover and turn it on you should hear no noise and when the power light turns red you should see a LAMP red led blink every 5 seconds. If no noise then the lamp is bad. If you do hear noise you have a bad ballist.
Hope this helps.

purchase a universal remote from an electronic supplier, IE Walmart and as per the instructions sent with you new remote, program it for your TV, you will regain most if not all the features and functions your original remote.

1) Make sure the TV is on.
2) While pressing and holding down VOL DOWN button on the TV, press and hold down SPLIT PLAY button on the remote until a message appears on the screen that the lamp timer has been reset.

The TV shutdown error code can help you with this problem. If the power led flashes green for 2 Min's then red. The Lamp led should flash red 1-2-3 or 4 time every 5 Min's. These are error codes that may point you in the right direction to you problem.
The problem is the computer in the TV is set to hold data for 2500 "On/Offs" Once you turn the TV on and off 2500 times, the dots start to appear as the computer cannot store anymore date. Call Panasonic, they will send a tech to your house for free and reset the computer and update it at the same time from 2500 to 1 million on/offs so it wont happen again. It takes maybe 10 mins to complete.
