My screen is black

Does the screen work in menu mode or playback? If so then the shutter may be stuck in the closed position. Compact and bridge cameras work on "live view". The picture is live feed from the lens. Obstruction to the sensor (usually the shutter) will prevent live view.

My screen went black in the middle of a call and has not turned on since then. I have plug it in and plug it into a computer nothing.

It appears your light sensor may be dirty or faulty, also, make sure you take off any case you have on your phone. The iPhone is designed so that when you put the phone to your ear, the screen goes black to conserve power and to prevent you from hitting buttons on the screen accidentally. If cleaning your screen doesn't work, you might want to have the unit checked out at your local apple store: www.apple.com/retail/locator/

A few other solutions may be to attempt to trigger the sensor again by moving a finger over the light sensor, or by shaking the phone, sometimes this has solved the problem.

When I turn on the camera the screen is black. The digital screen works for menu options but is completely black when trying to take a picture

Hi,

The black screen problem means the lens sensor is spoiled due to over exposure to heat. Its better to give it to Olympus service centre. If your camera is under warranty period its well and good they will replace the lens sensor for free of cost.

Thank you

My screen keeps turning black. i called last week because it happened to me before and they told me to take the battery out and press the power button for 15 seconds and put the baterry back, so i did and...

It is possible that you have a sensor problem which is a hardware issue. Cleaning near the top of your phone sometimes restores the sensor function. If you have a screen saver it will have a cutout for the sensor. If you look carefully you can find it.
But, have you gone into Settings/Display and looked how long it is set for before it goes to Sleep?
For my personal use I set mine to 2 minutes before Sleep/Black Screen.

Black screen when camera is turned on

hi.. I also had this problem with canon ixus 75. i took it to the service center and they just knocked its lens(lightly) when it was on ON mode, then suddenly the screen started working.
But he said that u should use it on regular basis for few days and if the problem occurs again. then we will have to change the sensor, I think he said sensor or something like that.

Thick Black Line on Screen

This is caused by dead pixel sensors. There are hundreds of pixel sensors at the edges of the screen, when they go out it will cause a line varying in size depending on the amount of sensors that go out, and the line can vary in color, red, blue, green, white, and black. Unfortunately, the only fix for this is to replace the screen.
