Sounds like the driver was erased during the re-install. Use another computer, go to 'motorola.com', then downloads, find your modem and download the driver. I'd give the specific address but its not hard to find.

Re: Motorola 5120 Surfboard
Yes it can happen after a reinstall.. You will need to go into the computer ie take the back off. Pull the modem out and put it back in in another slot exact to the one you pulled it out of. Try it again it will no doubt read this time.. It can only be done this way if you try to manually install a moderm it will load the standard one NOT your Modem. Goodluck!

2 completely different technologies.
FAX uses phone line (analogue) and router is digital.
It's one or the other.
Plugging what is essentially a modem into another modem was never going to work.
Scan and email is much faster and easier.
Or FAX to FAX through phone line.
the default for your modem is 192.168.0.1 username: admin password :motorola
try logging with this first. if this doesn't work then you will have to do manual hard reset of router for default factory settings through either a reset button/pinhole on the back of router and holding it for at least 5 secs but be aware that it will wipe all internet settings and will have to be configured again.. if you don't know how to do that then not recommended to do hard reset. better call isp guys.
