try to upload the songs onto it with windows media player 11
i only use iriver plus 3 for videos
when ur in windows media go into sync then it has like a side bar just drag the music into that and down the bottom of the bar it says sync press that
and if that doesnt work u might have to buy a new one
i think you should try this...
if you dont already, download iriver plus 3
install it
open iriver plus 3
plug in iviver
go to tools>Portable Device>Disk Initialization
this should format your iriver and replace all the original files
i reccomend only putting music, video, pictures and ebooks on via iriver plus 3
and also please make sure you safely remove the iriver each time you connect it to the computer
if you dont, there is a chance that you will screw your iriver, you may have heard of the "building library" problem, which nobody has found a solution for yet.
yea i know what ur talking about. unfortunately the iriver x20 can only read SOME types of playlists. for example the windows media playlist that some people use doesnt work but the .m3u files which u can convert on winamp does work. its a real pain i know but that's why i just add files while i listen to them on the music menu of the x20.
hope that helps!
hmmm....
well u can buy yourself a micro sd card and use that...
as long as all the menu files ect are still on ur working x20 u can just slot in a micro sd with ur new music!
If you no longer want to listen to some some songs u can just format the internal memory in the settings > advanced menu.
it's a little bit annoying like swapping the batteries but it means that it's function is salvagable.
so to answer ur question it isn't technically dead so long as u have a way to charge ur x20 and update ur music photo's ect...
im not too sure what u mean by lists though...
if ur wanting to know whether the port is salvagable im guessing probably not.
if its just a wiring solder problem and ur compotent in solder work then u can try if ur willing to risk it.
but i probably wouldn't
you need to download the files onto your comp and then use wmp 11 and sync..
if u need to change formats of the music, video or pictures use iriver plus 3 that came with the product
u can use the other mode to put the album art on it too....
just drag and drop the album art using wmp 11...
if that doesn't work the slow way is to use iriver plus 3 and add it manually.
i suggest organising your files by placing albums into individual folders with their album art...
u can also use other programs like itunes or winamp to add album art...
Same problem on a 2GB x20 I just bought. Easy to get things into the device, but nothing recognized as playlist either using iriver plus3 or Media Player.
