How to set up surround sound - Audio Players & Recorders

Your speaker settings are probably in surround mode, so you’re not going to hear any audio in the rears/sides unless watching a movie that supports surround. Try changing the settings on your surround receiver to “All Channel Stereo” or “Multi Ch. Stereo” (if it supports it). You may need to toggle through the music or surround settings on the front of the receiver itself to get to it. It all depends on the age and brand of your AVR. If it’s newer, you might try using the mobile app to access the settings. Just remember to change it back to Dolby or DTS for watching movies. Hope that helps.

hi, you need to have 3 pair of audio-in ports for that. i think your sound system has 3 input ports. ie, 1.tv in ->u can connect this to audio out of your tv 2: vcr in ->u can connect this to audio out port of vcr 3: aux in -> this can be connected to your TV Receiver then you can use the soundsystem remote to switch between the source to listen one at a time. pls come back if u have any thing more sreejith

Go into the set up/ menu screen on your TV. Look for audio set up to see if there is an option for surround sound output. If it doesn't have a surround sound output option, it most likely doesn't have surround sound on board. You will need to get a home theatre system (which will probably be much better anyway).

Time Delay Setting in Multi-channel Surround Sound Systems

If your sound is set to Surround Sound or Dolby Surround Sound and you haven't got the rest of the system set up to balance, that is why you can only hear some of the audio. Turn off the surround sound to see what I mean.

i assume ur mother board supports surround sound an ur using windows os. go to control panel - sounds and audio devices - speaker settings-advanced - speaker set up with the drop down menu. select surround sound - apply - ok.
if ur using surround audio drivers like realtek, etc. the settings console should have somewhat similar options like audio input/output (I/O) options. select surround sound speaker setting and configure which audio port should be audio output ports. driver settings can be accessed from control panel too. to access control panel click on start menu there u'll see the control panel menu.

It sounds like you don't have your surround sound source set up properly (your DVD player is not set up for PCM sound).

the best quality audio will be to set up either digital or optical audio between the DVD and the receiver.

Once you have connected the optical or digital audio cable between the DVD and receiver, you have to go into the DVD player audio setup and change it to PCM digital audio or you will not get surround sound. DVD players are not set up by default to output surround sound.

Go to Settings/SoundSettings/AudioOutputSettings/AudioInputConnector or DigitalOut depending on type of input you are using for surround.

The surround sound comes out of the audio out on the rear of your set so the ony leads you need are the Audio set. Red/White, get the lenght you'll need. They get put into the L+R of your audio receiver.
